Today's #homecooked lunch was steamed #okra & fried garlic salt n pepper #prawns. I dipped okra in fermented bean curd sauce(not pictured). Ate both of these dishes with small bowl of steamed jasmine rice(not pictured).

My peoples believe we go to demonic dungeons, if we ever charge monies to help people suffer less. We will accept foods. If we have to travel far to deliver our spiritual ceremonies services, we'd like to not be out of pocket for providing free spiritual healing services. We will sleep on your floor.
Whether you lay down one single grain of rice or 100 bricks of gold - you should not be given different treatment but equal humane treatment. Anyone who violates basic code of humanity, needs to work on themselves more & stop trying to buy a free ticket into humanity.

This is another one of our smaller #Buddha statues. We painted it gold. We have multiple Buddha statues of various sizes, all over our front & back gardens. We practice Taoism but also adopted a lot of Buddhist practices - they tend to interconnect with many crossovers.

My Mom is super supportive of all my parasports endeavors. She used to go to all my para-equestrian competitions. Mom couldn't go to my equestrian training sessions; her past work conflicted. She came to every sledge hockey practice.
Every single parasport I've tried out - has been supported by my parents. Dad would've loved seeing me getting into dragonboating. I tell him about it, every weekend & believe he hears me.

Day off. Plans are to get caught up on seeds sowing, get food transplants into beds/bigger pots (2 pea types & loganberries), aerate composts, sift soil & prep pots.

Today was a wonderful day with helping out two Aunties & hanging out with my Mom. We are becoming best friends, slowly.

Few years ago, I surprised folks at my parents dinner party. My friend gave me her son's #Santa costume(outgrown it) to wear for a couple of holiday toy/book drives that I was doing for children stuck in hospitals over holidays. Wore it to my parents' dinner party.

My dinner tonight is this braised soy & garlic soft tofu, with ground pork, button mushrooms & green onions. Eating with some plain rice congee. Softer foods, for my recovering gums, after 2 back to back molar extractions.

The black shawl top is a gift from my Auntie Chan 🥰 I paired it with warm gray knit mockneck & my brown velour & plaid bellbottoms. Beaded jewelry was handmade by a local friend.
Mom was 26 yrs old & I was 8 yrs old. In front of BC legislature. Wearing my fave red ruffle neck sweater vest, wide leg jeans; Mom let me wear her red lipstick that day. I'm unhappy about my mismatched Frankenstein orthotic boot - ppl used to stare at/make fun of them/me. It took years for me to be able to wear regular, matching boots.

Mom was 29 yrs old, brother Jerry was 8 yrs old. In a cyclo, at the #Singapore exhibition. Our very first family holidays trip, a ferry ride over. We stayed in a motel & had fancy dimsum for first times on this short trip. We had lots of fun at Expo86. The monorail rides were my fave.

I was 13 yrs old & being taught how to target shoot pop cans with a pellet rifle. Jake Masselink - one of our family's sponsors who funded our family to come to Canada & helped us apply for asylum & then Canadian citizenship - was teaching me. It was on #PenderIsland at their family homestead, in Hope Bay. My 2 brothers are waiting their turn.
1978 - Me, my brothers & cousins at #Bidong Island, #Malaysia#RefugeesCamp before we were transferred to #Galang refugees camp in Indonesia, in early 1979. One cousin, Bill, was born at Indonesian camp & was in my Aunt's belly at time this photo was taken.
Cutting & chopping propagated #GreenOnions to use with Teochew beef & meatball soup. We have 2 jars on our kitchen windowsill that we harvest from. We grow them outdoors too.
