Yosemite Valley Infrared

Yosemite Valley has majestic granite cliffs that rise dramatically on both sides of the forested Yosemite Valley. Bridalveil Falls flows from the high country above the valley. The Three Brothers serve as a backdrop for the waterfall. In the distance Half Dome rises above the valley.
On the left side of the image is El Capitan rising over the valley.

El Capitan III

El Capitan is a majestic granite cliff that soars 3,000 feet into the sky from Yosemite Valley dwarfing the surrounding coniferous trees at its base. The granite is generally a light brown earth tones with a mixture of blueish/grey.
Puffy clouds fill the sky above the imposing rocky monolith. The evergreen trees mix with the dormant hardwoods on the floor of the valley.

Yosemite Falls 3724

Majestic waterfalls cascade down a steep cliff face amidst a rugged mountainous landscape that is Yosemite Valley. Bare deciduous trees lit by a break in the clouds line the tranquil Merced River flowing in the foreground, reflective of the season. The clouds in the sky threaten rain or snow as they pass over Yosemite Point. See the full image here: https://fineartamerica.com/featured/yosemite-falls-3724-bill-gallagher.html #

Snow Kissed Valley

This shot was taken as a winter storm was clearing Yosemite Valley. The morning was cold and nasty but as the day moved on the sun started to break through.
On the left is El Capitan in it's proud glory. On the right you have Bridalveil Falls, The Three Brothers, and in the center back is Half Dome. See the full image here: https://fineartamerica.com/featured/snow-kissed-valley-bill-gallagher.html

Mariposa Grove

There are a couple of groves of Redwoods in Yosemite National Park and Mariposa Grove near the south entrance is one of them.
I've been through his grove a number of times admiring these giants but this time seemed special. I woke early the morning and had this whole grove mostly to myself. See the full image here: https://fineartamerica.com/featured/mariposa-grove-bill-gallagher.html?newartwork=true

Dogwood Dream

In the spring time the dogwoods along the Merced River bloom in large white flowers and the river serves a wonderful backdrop for these beautiful flowers.
This image of the dogwoods has been enhanced to pull the colors out of these flowers and to put it into a frame that is surreal.

El Capitan II

El Capitan in Yosemite Valley is certainly one of my happy places. There are so many vantage point to see this amazing rock formation. One of my favorite places is from the valley floor. This granite monolith rises roughly 3000 feet above the valley floor.
I always feel so small when I'm standing below El Capitan. See the full image here: https://fineartamerica.com/featured/el-capitan-ii-bill-gallagher.html
