Ah, perfect timing for aloe plants with yellow flowers! I saw several raised garden beds of these succulent plants in Phoenix today. I appreciate the memorial garden at Banner University Medical Center.

For a brief break from snow pics, here are a couple of views of a little I got myself as a slightly belated 60th present! Seems it is likely x Gasteraloe 'Kebela' an intergeneric hybrid, though I haven't found any details on parentage. I notice with the big uptick in the popularity of cacti and succulents in recent years, there is a huge amount of related content online, almost all of it is very low quality! sneaking in a

See first photo for description of plant. It is in a small terra-cotta coloured plastic pot, held up by a partly visible pinkish hand, n front of an extended window shelf full of plants- mainly cacti and succulents, in front of a window outside of which the blurred snow gives a white and blue backdrop. Much of the shelf is half shaded, the plant is held in a shaft of sunlight, so one side of the leaves is bright, other side in shadow.

The aloe growing down our driveway, getting ready to push out some flowers a couple of weeks ago.

The flowers themselves are interesting, but I like the flower spikes even more - the subtle (to me) colours and shapes. Maybe someone with normal colour vision sees them as being quite bold???

I might have a black thumb, but I can grow vera like nobodies business! I've got 3 generations of it going, and grandma just started growing a bloom again! This is the second year it's made seeds, I can't wait to post more pictures, the aloe flowers are so cool!

The heart of an older aloe vera, with a new bloom just beginning to grow!

Haven't posted a pic of my Aloe plants in awhile. In the last few months, the pup "junior" has been struggling. I'm not sure why, but i've moved it into a better window in hopes that it will do better.

The other plants are doing well, to the point where I can no longer tell which one was the weaker one when i first got them. Unfortunately one of them I've forgotten to rotate so it's got a pretty obvious tilt.

It's been about a month since my last post so here's an update. They're all getting so much bigger. Junior (the pup) is much healthier.

Turns out it was over-watered & not being watered for 2 weeks while I was on vacation did it wonders. The 2 bigger plants are continuing to get bigger.

I'm actually starting to get a bit concern l concerned with long term care as I can't really get any bigger pots because of their locations.

An aloe vera plant in a pot in a South facing window. It's very happy and healthy. It's actually starting to get too big and in certain orientations, the leaves sit against the window.

Junior has been growing so fast this month, I swear it has been growing noticeable every single day. The plant in the first picture, I'm hoping it's doing ok as it hasn't sent to be grown as much. I'm wondering if it may not be getting enough sunlight. It's in a South facing window but that may not be good enough... I've got some plant lights ordered. The plant in the second picture has also been doing quite well.

The centre of an aloe (a. polyphylla) in the botanic gardens.

Hmm, looks a bit creepy if you look at it the wrong way...but it's just a plant!
