New running shoes! My old ones have been in use for ~2,000 kms/pair. So these are the Brooks Ghost Max and Asics Gel-Cumulus 26. The latter ones feel like walking on clouds… #Running#shoes#asics#brooks
I went to buy new #running shoes yesterday in preparation of my first #marathon The guy in the shop was very sceptic of my #adidas ultraboost 22, which I had used so far as an all purpose shoe after my #brooks defyance. I ended up with buying #asics gel Pursue 9 for the long runs. However I'm now unsure whether I should go on with my plan to use the ultraboost for the marathon itself. Thoughts?
“You don’t want to consider your shoe something you’re going to throw away, and that’s a long-term change. It’s a mental model that needs to change for us to keep building all the products of the future”
“Products should really be made the same way plants grow: Build it so it’s regenerative, it’s circular”
“estimated that of the 23.5 billion pairs of #shoes that are produced each year throughout the world, 95% of them will end their life as landfill waste. This equates to around 20 million tons of waste every year
The footwear industry has yet to come up with an adequate solution to this problem”
First time I pushed myself since I recovered from pneumonia and a water in my left lung (mid to late 2021).
I used the closed roads being used by two race events, #EarthRun and #ASICS run. 😜
I think being with fellow runners made it easier. I didn't feel any pain and I rarely had to catch my breath. Though I was still slow as compared to before I got sick, and had a lot of walks than runs, this was still far better than whenever I ran 5k solo this year.
New running shoes! Was about time… My old ones had lasted for 2,500 kms/pair. The Brooks Divide is now a Gore Tex model for the cold/wet season. The Asics Cumulus feels like running on a cushion. Let’s see how this keeps up during my daily 24+ kms rounds… #Running#Asics#Brooks
"But Bitcoin is a great way to monetize excess renewables"
No, this was never true. If you make a capital investment in a mining rig, then you want that rig making you money 24hrs, not just when the rest of the grid is not consuming renewables.
Again: There is no valid reason to use #Bitcoin :bitcoin: except to sell it to some #BiggerFool, thus cashout as best as possible and if possible, retire.
What an absolutely lovely place for #running 😍. If it wasn't for the upcoming business meeting today (and me running a bit out of juice this early and before breakfast), I'd be running around in this #copenhagen park to nightfall. Ran with a #garmin Fenix 6 pro, #stryd footpod and #Asics Novablast 3 shoes. #stravarunner
In case anyone is remotely curious/concerned: Yes, still in pain. The broken bones are making progress, more movement, but the soft tissue damage is taking a lot longer and has, in some cases, actually got more painful since I fell, so trying some co-codamol now (instead of alcohol, obviously). I would say "fingers crossed", but crossing my fingers hurts too.
I stopped using #Salomon shoes for trail / fell running because the laces keep loosening up, especially going downhill. Using the longer laces and tying a knot after the locking mechanism mitigated the problem somewhat but didn't solve it.
Nowadays I use #Asics and #Innov8, both with old school laces. They're both light and fit like a glove. No protection against rock strikes but I'm ok with that.
