Detail from an early-game backdrop for the game I'm making, 'Future Ghost'. A title card will make it unmistakable in-game, but maybe a casual viewer could guess at this setting as well.

The art style is inspired by mid-80s comic books, with adjustments to make it suit a point & click style of exploration.

After ‘Mecha Kitsune-no-mimi’, R. Banshee asked me to do a piece of their ice warrior character as well. The request was to buff up and mature the boy on the reference that was handed in.

Meet Wei Song, protagonist of WIP point & click / RPG indie game 'Future Ghost'.

An ageing ex-fighter, Song is primarily driven by survivor's guilt and his personal sense of duty.

Been drawing this guy in one form or another for more than 20 years. Contemplated giving the player a choice between masc Song or fem Song, but it's just too much work...

I wanna point out that I don't JUST draw porn.
I usually just CHOOSE to for fun. 😇

Anyway, here's Carver & Rowan sharing a moment.

btw: Line Art is 400dpi (I hope) in case anyone wants to print it (or save it) to color if they want to.

I have trouble with the elevator pitch for 'Future Ghost'. Here are a few ideas I'm playing with...

  1. A blend of 2D point & click adventure and JRPG, ‘Future Ghost’ is the story of an ageing fighter whose adventures begin with immortality.

  2. ‘Future Ghost’ is a metaphysical scifi narrative adventure blending 2D point & click with JRPG turn-based battles and character progression.

What making a game currently looks like for me. The setup is humble. The palette is from mid-80s comics. There are 20 or so cartoonish hand-drawn 2D backdrops left to colour; about 1/3 of the total.

Is it just me or does something weird happen when I color line art by @micahdraws ?

We need to make him rich and famous so he can hire me as his full-time colorist.

My childhood collection is a hodgepodge. Now it's fuel for my own creativity, using Marvel's 1980s printed palette.

'The Official Handbook of the Marvel Universe' provided swatches for my ingame visuals (2nd image). Next I'll sample the printed cover colours for updated Steam capsule art, etc.

You don't see the rich red on that 1989 Amazing Spider-Man cover on mid '80s X-Men titles!

Hi kids. Happy .

I'm Ty, which is short for ‘Thank You’. I'm a freelance illustrator and designer of ~15 years, technically trained in branding—but fuck capitalism, so now I make comics for free. You can still pay me though, if you’d like.

My primary project is @risingsand, which I make with @y2jenn when you're not looking.

My actual portfolio is still MIA; but like, whatever, man.

A promotional image for Rising Sand Act 2, depicting Dal looking pensively to the sky atop a large stone hand. The first tagline reads 'Sometimes the real treasure is the friends we lost along the way'; the second reads 'It can always get worse'. It's right.
A page of Rising Sand, wherein Ro is confronted by a whole lot of dudes. And she forgot to wear pants! Which, hopefully, means this is just a dream.

Developing methods for digitally replicating features of '80s in 'Future Ghost'. Here is green "printed" over black (the device screen), then OG Thor with red and blue overlays on black for comparison, then the full ingame location.

I'm Kenn and I like making games.

5 years ago I was game jamming and dropping demos. Then lockdown etc. meant got shelved, but now I'm back in the saddle!

Currently working on style asset for metaphysical 'Future Ghost'. Rewrote the script entirely and still tweaking. The old demo and other things are on Itch & Steam...

This year I'm going to try doing my own inktober comic! I've been mulling on this idea for a while now and I've finally decided to just try doing it. I'm not sure it'll quite end up how I want, but it'll be good practice. Here's page 1:

kajsakim,

here's page 2! Still haven't thought of a title yet..

kajsakim,

page three! got a little carried away on the perspective and wasn't able to finish yesterday, but its here now!

kajsakim,

and page 4 for today! I'll have to see if I can better pace my drawing so I dont end up behind so early on.
