What's the chance* that GOP MAGAts will come around to banning vasectomies now that the young'uns are choosing to sterilize themselves rather than face the Big Government overreach of abortion bans?

I mean, how can you enslave child-bearing folks under the boot of capitalism if they refuse to create a steady labor supply?

*The chance is very likely slim to none since the patriarchy by definition values men's rights. But still, capitalism also requires an underclass, and forced birth plunges many into that category without regard to gender.

By compelling women through legal process to provide information under oath about how they obtained their , and then using that information to sue the out-of-state . This serves the dual purpose of harassing and humiliating the person who chose to get an abortion, while threatening abortion providers in states where it’s legal.

In other words, it’s a perfect example of the rank at the heart of the movement.

The assumptions underlying our lifestyles are rarely questioned as often as they should be. Take the meat, dairy, and egg industries, for example. There are the blatant violations of ethical treatment that many people know about - cramped space, living in their own filth, fed hormones to fatten them up, etc. But far more insidious are the assumptions we don't question.

I just read an article on that I will NOT link to espousing the virtues of “the pull-out method” when it comes to . The headline asks, “Withdrawal is a perfectly effective form of contraception. So why are some doctors and sex educators so against it?”

I don’t put a lot of stock in conspiracy theories, but when shit starts staring you in the face…

Beto O'Rourke is correct, most Republicans are against immigration (nearly all are immigrants or their ancestry records indicate that they're in the US bc of immigration *allowed them to live here) that's needed for the economy. They're pro: &
anti: abortion & birth control :

"There're 9.5M unfilled jobs in the US.

The GOP would rather gut child labor laws & ban abortion than allow immigrants to legally work them."

Being watched sucks. Of all the parenting mistakes I've made, none haunt me more than the times my daughter caught me watching her while she was learning to do something, discovered she was being observed in a vulnerable moment, and abandoned her attempt:

Ad-tech follows us into clinics and then sells the info to the cops back home in the states run by LARPers:

And even if you have the good fortune to live in a state whose motto isn't "There's no 'I" in uter-US," ad-tech also lets anti-abortion propagandists trick you into visiting fake "clinics" who defraud you into giving birth by running out the clock on terminating your pregnancy:

By definition, these pregnant children are rape victims. By definition, their health and their lives are imperiled: Pregnancy is the leading killer of adolescent girls worldwide."

There is a Google doc that lists gynaecologists who will perform tubal ligation (tie tubes) without asking if you have kids/your partners permission/are married etc. as long as you're old enough to consent to surgery.

It's sorted by alphabetical order by state.

If your city isn't listed, keep checking because it's constantly being updated.

So far there are entries for USA, Canada, and Australia. Europe will hopefully soon be added.

I feel like the forced birth pipeline starts very early - insisting that girls and women fit into gender norms and prioritize marriage and children above all else. Making them critical of their bodies and appearances to serve this purpose.

I even think transphobia is another manifestation of this - reducing people to their “biological” functions and using that to determine where in the societal hierarchy they fall. The same thing has been done with race time and time again.

This is why you can’t fall for what appear to be academic debates about “when life begins” and “are trans kids in sports getting an unfair advantage.” It’s never about those things at all, and in fact, those are deliberate, reasonable-sounding talking points generated to try to recruit more people to bigotry.

I like this insight, trying to put these individual issues into a more organized picture. I think Journalism needs to do more of this. Too much we cover each action and indignity as if it were some surprise, isolated, modular incident that is unrelated to all others. In doing so, we don't get the big picture. There is a LOT of that going on these days.

This work also resonates with an essay I wrote in 2012, "Language Defines Our Lives". It had gone offline when Salon magazine's Open Salon forum was retired, but it's available via the magic of the Internet Archive. I think you'll find it interesting and relevant.

Google isn't afraid to ban whole categories of advertising: for example, Google has banned , a nonprofit that provides information about medication abortions. The company erroneously classes Plan C as an "unauthorized pharmacy." But Google continues to offer paid disinformation on behalf of groups that claim there is such a thing as "" (there isn't - but the "abortion reversal" drug cocktail is potentially lethal).
