Today is #FossilFriday & yesterday was #VolcanoThursday. During #hedgewatch on #Fuerteventura my humans saw this red stripe between 2 #lava flows. Its #paleosoil that was #fried by the upper flow some mill a ago. Ironoxid is often red & iron can be found in basalt

Today is #FossilFriday & I taught my humans that to be a #fossil the specimen needs to be at least 10.000 a old. That doesn't hold for this #corals, but this is basically how fossils of corals look like. We found them during #hedgewatch on the #Seychelles.

Today during indoor #hedgewatch I found a #mineral called #TigersEye in the shelf! Pawsome! It's a #quartz mineral and got its name, no need to say it😹, because it shows #chatoyancy-the #Cat-eye effect, caused by the fibrous mineral growth, when properly cut.
