I saw a Royal Spoonbill when I went for a run yesterday. That made me pretty happy. I didn't have my camera with me, but I stopped my run and grabbed a photo with my phone.
This morning, a scrub turkey broke in to my house, knocked shit everywhere in my kitchen, destroyed the guaze in the bathroom window and shat everywhere in my hall, including up the side of the walls.
It's a good thing I love birds, because that bird tested me...
A few years ago @TashTaylor and I were shocked to find some pliosaurs swimming in the river. An artwork had been set up using projectors to create a surprisingly realistic impression of marine reptiles swimming just below the surface, and we had walked right past the sign. I think it should be made permanent, without signage, and Brisbanites should swear not to tell any tourists, but to look afraid if any mention the creatures in the river.
