#PPOD: On April 8, 2024, a NASA photographer captured the total solar eclipse in Dallas. A small part of North America, from Mexico’s Pacific coast to the Atlantic coast of Newfoundland, Canada, saw the total solar eclipse, while all of North America and parts of Central America and Europe saw a partial solar eclipse. The next total solar eclipse that will travel across the lower 48 states from coast to coast is in 2045. Credit: NASA/Keegan Barber
It's been a few days and I find my brain is still trying to find the right words that capture the experience of the #TotalEclipse.
There aren't many things in our world anymore that are quite so poorly captured by our "content creation" methods. Video, pics, posts – all are inadequate to the task.
Words & testimonials, when you find eloquent ones, seem more successful than the imagery.
America just had their total solar eclipse. Turns out here in Australia we are getting one in 2028, and it’s going right over Sydney where I live! Holy freakin’ hell!
Might be worth travelling to the Blue Mountains, somewhere like Lithgow, or even inland to Dubbo. Both have perfect dark skies for astrophotography. #Eclipse#TotalEclipse#SolarEclipse https://eclipse.asa.astronomy.org.au/eclipse-australia-2028/
#grenzwellen Soo many images about the passing sun eclipse #totaleclipse And so less music for it 😘 You cannot take modern hard rock songs for such an event 😃 #totaleclipseoftheheart
Bonnie Tyler - Total Eclipse of the Heart (Official Lyric Video)
4 photos I shot during the totality of the eclipse. Red spots around the edges are solar prominences. These images were shot within 1 minute. The bright spot near the bottom grows into a full arch with a visible hollow by the last picture. #TotalEclipse#Totality#SolarPromenence
Photographing a partial eclipse is difficult, so you’ll have to settle for the crescents under a bush. We were at 85 percent here in Greenville. 😄 #TotalEclipse#PartialEclipse
Look who I found, @smartereveryday! Please #mowx cooperate and give us the nice clear skies we have right now later today 🤞#TotalEclipse#SolarEclipse2024
I’ve got my glasses from the 2017 #TotalEclipse which I watched from the Furman University football stadium with several thousand others. We will have 85 percent coverage, this time. #Furman#GreenvilleSC
#TotalEclipse 🌘 #OurHouse will be watching the celestial event tomorrow with #NASA 🚀on their 📺#YouTube channel. We plan to be OFF our devices to help keep cell towers open for ER services. Us pets will be inside, doped up, and snacks will be served! What are doing?
