There is just no question in my mind that the culture of the fediverse (by any name) is a better model for civil discussion. But oddly, even many of its biggest champions have largely returned to Twitter, or pivoted to Threads, which may be a step up from Nazis, but that’s a pretty fucking law bar.

It makes sense that Ford would call an election because there is no opposition, voter turnout out would probably be the same as last time, the PCs have been using our $$$ non-stop the past few months to highlight their successes and because if PP wins, well there is historical precedent that shows the province would dump his provincial affiliation to the federal https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/toronto/alcohol-sales-convenience-stores-ontario-1.7213546

It makes sense, I don't really like any of options. Our options are:
Doug Ford
Bonnie Crombie, who isn't going to be better.
Marit Stiles, who is giving narcissistic vibes, see the picture below which is the first picture on the Ontario NDP's website.
Mike Schreiner, supports Lecce's stupid war on students.

I don't want to vote in the election, but probably will. I don't think most voters like me will vote though.

Ford government uses new powers to sidestep Toronto’s say in Ontario Place plans

As a result of the zoning order, Toronto city council will no longer be able to weigh in on technical elements of the project as it does on other buildings that go through the local planning process.

Also important context, the government won't use any of its powers to help victims of harassment in schools or help people being neglected in long-term care. They're showing us their priorities and it isn't helping vulnerable people or making a better future.

    If you don't understand how the alt-right pipeline works then you won't understand how we stop Pierre Poilievre. What alt-pipeline offers is hope, and community. Criticizing PP does not get people either of those things. Convincing people that PP is bad won't make them want to vote for the other failing parties.
    Unless we run candidates who can offer hope, without the bigotry, PP wins. Join me in forming a new party.

    We need is a party that does politics differently. We need to be bold and unafraid. We need real solutions. I think we should push for the following things:

    1. Break up of the oligopolies including .
    2. Repeal of the Notwithstanding clause.
    3. Tax reforms so housing is not an investment.
    4. Real privacy laws.
      If you have ideas please share them.
      We also need to distance ourselves from toxic "leftists". We can save democracy only if we work together. All are welcome.

    People who make fun of people for dropping out, people who are lying and saying Doug Ford is letting people drop out, people who refuse to condemn OSSTF for supporting ageist policies, people who are bigots (primarily ageism is what I see). Those are the toxic people we must avoid. These people only push people towards PP.

    I've seen "leftists" push for all of those things.
    As for my criticism of OSSTF are based on their opposition to children having control over their own education based on their support of "Learning to Age 18", which despite the name has done irreparable harm to trust in the public school system. That policy took away 16 and 17 year olds ability to control their own education. They also never called out that policy for trying to throw more students in jail.

    I am going to be super busy all day, but this response from the Office of the Information Commissioner of Canada just came into my inbox. I argued Public Safety Canada (emergency communications) services were violating privacy laws using corporate social media. They say they don't have jurisdiction to make the call. Would be interested in your guys thoughts on a response before I have time to think on mine.

    @AAKL I don't think meta would gain access to raw information but rather something through the iPhone API telling the app that it has confirmed your information. At least, that's how I hope this works.

    Fiscal Conservatism is saying no handouts for poor people but for big corporations like Embridge there's corporate welfare and for rich people there's welfare based on car ownership because only the most deserving people have wealth.

    The Ministry of Health has taken down their CFMA page: http://www.health.gov.on.ca/en/public/programs/ohip/cfma.aspx. The page contained information to help Ontarians recover funds when they were unlawfully charged for insured services. The page now redirects to Elaws.

    This is another step towards 2-tiered health care.
