is wising up to Premier Ford’s true colours, but it is difficult to realize there isn’t one Conservative MPP who believes our healthcare and education systems are worth saving.
Corrupt cowards. Every last one.

"Hmm. Received yet another [Shoppers] MedsCheck identifying a patient who is on NO medications! Extremely unhelpful; extremely wasteful." - Dr. Alan Drummond, Ontario physician

is forking over $60 MILLION a year to Shoppers for this nonsense while he continues to collapse our public healthcare system. Ont. physicians are NOT paid to manage this flood of unsolicited Medchecks.

Hey,

"Less than 30 per cent of last year's grads ranked family medicine as their first choice for their specialty training."

"There's this stigma that family doctors are absolutely rich and they make so much money"
👉 People are shocked when they hear the Ford govt has capped family physicians at $38 a visit, while nurse practitioners running private clinics charge patients $80 for a consultation, double what OHIP pays a doctor.

In , a patient with no family doctor will likely head to a hospital emergency room instead. What should have been a $37 doctor visit will now cost taxpayers $1000.

Hey Ontario! Did anyone hear campaign on this?

👉 "Kyle Truong, who lives in hasn't had a family doctor for four years.
Then he discovered a private clinic where he could quickly get an appointment with a nurse practitioner, though it would NOT be covered by OHIP. Lucky for him, he was able to afford the $450 fee"

Dr. Michael Verbora [McMaster] is speaking out on why physicians are leaving 's Ontario in droves...

"Ontario physicians face huge challenges simply trying to collect payment. It’s such an archaic, outdated system that many are now willingly forfeiting a massive chunk of income because getting paid takes too much time. [Many new loopholes, increased paperwork]
After a doctor submits a claim to OHIP the doctor doesn't even find out if the claim was accepted for 2 MONTHS. 1/3

The Ministry of Health has taken down their CFMA page: http://www.health.gov.on.ca/en/public/programs/ohip/cfma.aspx. The page contained information to help Ontarians recover funds when they were unlawfully charged for insured services. The page now redirects to Elaws.

This is another step towards 2-tiered health care.

Hey - this is how Premier Ford & Sylvia Jones are allocating our healthcare dollars ⬇️

"Shoppers Drug Mart has been charging the Ontario government upwards of $60–$75 for EACH unsolicited "MedsCheck" phone call, often placed without clinical basis or need.
This compensation figures sharply in contrast to what our [diminishing pool] of family doctors typically receive for a comprehensive, in-person visit: $38."

@gemelliz@mstdn.ca avatar

A reminder that Premier Ford is offering family doctors a 0% increase at a time when there's a dire shortage & family doctors are fleeing in droves.
The Ford govt says they're "trying to get more family doctors" but the fact that the $38 per patient visit hasn’t increased in more than 5 years proves they really aren't.
Also 💥 's pharmacist reimbursements for those bogus phone "medication checks" are DOUBLE what a family doctor get paid per in person visit.

"When will he be admitted to hospital?” one of my sisters asked a nurse in the emergency department.

“He is admitted,” said the nurse briskly. “This is his room.”

His “room” was a curtained cubicle in the bright and noisy emergency department where there always seemed to be a new crisis just down the hall. It was barely big enough to contain his bed and the beeping equipment he was attached to."

The damage Premier Ford wanted to inflict is done. There's no need to appeal .

The point of Bill 124 was to purge nurses, destroy and then privatize our healthcare system.

(Extra bonus if you happened to be a nursing agency owner (looking at you Ms. Harris et al ) and made out like a bandit.)

Will Premier Ford also restrict the number of hip surgeries per year in his new private surgical clinics??

The [ govt] "funds our public hospital for 600 joint replacements per year. If we complete them in the first 4 months of the year, will not pay for more.
Our patients must wait 8 months for a surgical date in the next year. More funding is needed, not more OR time."

"Lights are off in ORs

Hospitals are hemorrhaging public healthcare $$ to private nursing agencies

And we have PROOF that private clinics cost MORE

Sylvia Jones is not in it for you. She's in it for private companies who want to profit from sick people." - Marit Stiles

Data from Health shows 20 "fully functional" ORs in area are only "partially utilized." (FYI Ont. operating rooms close by 4PM practically every day to "save money")

Another 32 ORs are "not utilized" at all. Closed

That's 52 operating rooms that could open to help surgical patients if nurses & funding were available.
So why open more private for profit surgical clinics when the hospital system is not being used? Kickbacks

Today, Health Minister Sylvia Jones announced that starting this spring on April 1, the Ford government will expand the number of private surgical clinics.

Ms. Jones did not answer when asked why her govt is willing to spend double and quadruple $$ to do privately what our public healthcare system can do more efficiently & less expensively.
