Just finished my first long run. It was just two and a half miles but considering I haven’t done any serious running in a long time it’s a good start.

I think my body knew what was coming this morning. Fell asleep on the couch last night and woke up at 1 AM. Dragged myself to bed and slept until 6 AM. I’m glad I actually got some decent sleep for the first time in a while.

My goal as a dad was to be a better father than the various shitty stepdads I’ve had over the years. I’d like to think I accomplished that goal.

Ahhhh that feeling you get when you are and your breathing gets in rhythm and it feels like you could run forever. I finally hit that today.

This is my first week of starting to add some distance to my runs. Felt good this morning. Hopefully I can keep it up.

I am in a tell-all mood so my last story of the day about where I live…

I used to be a high school math teacher. One day I decided to add atheist to my Facebook profile back when I had Facebook. The next day I was called into the office of my principal and told they were thinking about firing me for sharing that I was an atheist. I stood my ground and threatened legal action if they did. I didn’t get fired but was treated like a pariah after that and quit teaching a couple of years later.

This one did damage. Worst part about storm chasing in the south is most of the cells are high precipitation, fast moving, and rain wrapped.

@DemocracySpot Not sure. Been chasing since the early 2000s. Got tons of pics saved and figured I’d share some of them. I used to run one of the largest chasing teams in Georgia but disbanded it a while back. I still chase on the rare occasion that we get severe weather on a Saturday or Sunday.
