When I was a kid I thought all Phyllis from Coronation Street had the coolest hair of any old lady. PURPLE!

I haven't watched that show since then so I looked up when she was last in it. 1996. And the actress died in 1997. Damn.

Bring back the purple!
It's better than the 'Karen' hairstyle anyways. :D

Also that same drawing appears in Fantastic Four issue 49 but in different colours and with Johnny Storm flying to it. :P

Minor point, but I'm a little surprised that remake didn't retcon the crew compliment of the Ishimura. 1000 workers doesn't seem close to the required amount of biomass to be responsible for all the Corruption or the Leviathan.

It's a video game sure, but esp with the remake the series is pretty damn good at dotting it's is and crossing it's ts. The remake ties in several parts of the lore that didn't exist when the original was made.

@SirTapTap That's like in Red Dwarf, where the RD mining ship is gigantic (6 miles long, 5 tall, 4 wide) but the crew size was originally said to be 169 (before they were all wiped out and left only Lister who had been in cryo, Cat who had descended/evolved from Lister's pet cat and Rimmer revived as a hologram)

Then later source said it was 1,169 crew. Then an even later source said 11,169. And then later there was an entire prison deck that contained 400 inmates.

yeah, so often sci-fi writers just come up with a number without putting much though into it. Whether it's crew members, or distance in space, or the passage of time.

Even when I was a kid I thought it odd that the G1 Transformers spent 4 million years buried in that mountain and yet back on Cybertron nothing much changed. During FOUR MILLION YEARS? When Megatron was reactivated and contacted Shockwave back on Cybertron, it was like only days passed

Normally Suicide Squad wouldn't interest me after a couple of mediocre movies and ... that game... but this comic caught my attention because it's written by Nicole Maines, who played trans superhero Dreamer on CW's Supergirl, and these days she writer Dreamer's stories in the main DC comics universe.

And I enjoyed issue 1. Solid. :)

A lot of people hated it on release. Especially since it came right after E.T. and people were in the "aw, aliens can be cute" mood... even though even as a kid I found E.T. creepier than the Thing or xenomorphs (I hate the damn glowy spindly finger alien creep) :P

Amazing resource for 20th Century British comic books and magazines. So everything from Dan Dare and 2000AD to Doctor Who Weekly to Marvel UK's Transformers to British printings of US Spider-Man/Batman stories etc to a whole bunch of forgotten/obscure stuff too, to download and read and enjoy. A lot of childhood faves.

I dunno why we're talking about yellow paint to indicate climbing spots in games, but series does it (mostly) well, I love that the Focus dynamically will show you ANY climbable nook on climbable stuff.

Feels less necessary, but as someone who grew up through SNES-PS1 stuff, there were plenty of "I give up on this game..what tHE FUCK!?! YOU COULD DO THAT?!?!" moments. Your game is not as obvious as you think.

Glad to see people seem to be opening up to the term over "add more letters to LGBT!!"

The problem with trying to make an initialism covering all forms of diversity is that diversity is...diverse, and you essentially have a near-infinite number of increasingly uncommon but still relevant things to add.

You really just need an umbrella term.

It's really obvious most GamerGate types don't actually play games, one of my favorite examples is their biggest complaint about being "woke" is "aloy have fat cheeks >:( would not bang"

Like this is an obviously super multi-culti + enviornmentalist game where both the apocalypse AND the second near-apocalypse were both caused by literal sociopathic billionares.

The guy in the latest DLC is basically Walt Disney + Elon Musk

...but yes Mr. Sherman, the cheekbones are woke
