‘COVID’s ability to mutate underscores the need to get boosted.’
By this winter, those eligible may get a newer vaccine, yet the dominant variant will most likely be newer than the one the vaccine was developed to protect us against. ✍️ @julia_doubleday

Bird Flu? When, Not If.✍️@JessicaLexicus
Meanwhile, we should all avoid Long Covid, and its post-infection illnesses, that include viral persistence, a weakened immune system, brain damage, heart damage, liver damage, blood vessel damage, and more still.

⬆️COVID-19 latest: data trends upwards
Over 100,000 patients admitted to hospitals in England since 1 Jun 2023, who had COVID-19, plus those diagnosed in hospital with C19 in previous 24hrs.
Impact on the NHS, on waiting lists, on the economy?

Now is the time for the @UKHSA to review the eligibility criteria for people to get a COVID-19 spring booster, we are clearly starting to see a rise in COVID-19 cases and hospitalisations after a few weeks of low activity.

COVID precautions. Best to use a multilayered approach with: masking, improving air ventilation & filtration, latest available vaccines, physical distancing, and testing.
Using as many proven layers of protection to reduce risk of COVID. 👏Kaitlin Sundling

Study confirms critical importance of ventilation & maintaining low CO2 concentrations [indoors] for mitigating disease transmission. As CO2 concentration increases, time respiratory viruses remain infectious in the air increases. @adamhfinn @ukhadds et al https://www.nature.com/articles/s41467-024-47777-5#Sec2

Can’t we now agree that , the virus that causes the disease known as Covid-19, is transmitted through the air, by what is simply described as transmission?
Distance travelled depends on various factors, good ventilation reduces the risk.

Still too many hospitalisations, and deaths, due to Covid, and still unaware of long term impact of the disease. Huge strain on the NHS, includes the impact on staff health. Vaccines have helped but now boosters are limited. And poor ventilation the norm.
