Many people seem convinced the #drone attack on the Kremlin was a false flag operation. I have doubts because:

  1. The incident is embarrassing for #Russia's air defense. It's weird to make a false flag operation that makes yourself look incompetent and the enemy look strong.

  2. The Russian media have a pretty calm reaction. It doesn't look like a coordinated information operation.

  3. The claim that the drone was defeated with electronic countermeasures doesn't fit the video.

Runyan50,
@Runyan50@newsie.social avatar

@anderspuck Could be Russian partisans. That would explain how a small drone made it 400-500 miles inside Russia.

Private
Runyan50,
@Runyan50@newsie.social avatar

@ErikJonker @geopolitics Looks like a false flag or an unauthorized attack by individuals. Ukraine military is generally more practical than to send a small drone against a large building. The result would only strengthen Russian resolve like city bombing has already strengthened Ukraine’s.

The concept of people learning to think critically is anathema to all despots.

And without education, we don't have a prepared society. Without a prepared society, we have no economy, period.

It doesn't take much to understand that.

Point is, Republicans need to stop harassing our educators. But will they get the memo for about the umpteenth time? Add this to the GOP driving the economy off a cliff, again.

Culture wars are lots of fun until you kneecap your economy-

There was no reason at all for Greg Abbott to mention the immigration status of five people murdered in his state, even if he'd been right.

The vibe was "what about Black-on-Black crime?", an attempt to depict an entire community as unsafe.

Like Biden or don't, but he will be the Dem nominee. The alternative is anything the GOP puts out there, likely Trump.

We are a two-party system right now. That's just how it is. Your choice will be Biden v. Trump or someone as bad or worst than him. So, your choice will be Biden or full-on fascism with the possibility of a GOP president actually pulling off a coup next time.

Don't like Biden? Fine. But don't pretend both candidates are equally bad. That's how we got Trump in the first place.

Runyan50,
@Runyan50@newsie.social avatar

@dancinyogi @charvaka The criticism I see of Biden is he’s too old. That is exactly like saying I didn’t like Clinton because she was too blonde. I am waiting to see a substantive criticism of Biden that convinces me he is not a reasonable candidate.

-A reduction of up to 108K teachers and aides

-200K children kicked off Head Start

-Meals on Wheels taken away from 1 million seniors

-7K fewer rail safety inspection days next year alone

In other words — it's just ruthless.
