2 wks: Roofer comes, contractor fixes area$$

Meantime, we very well may take an impromptu driving trip to BC on Sunday because there is a really good house our agent alerted us to and we need to see it up close.

(Don't tell Hammy, he loves these trips and he'll go NUTS.)

Read the LATimes article about Trump's appeal and I don't see a fairly critical item of information that I wouldn't be asking about if I didn't follow @GottaLaff and @Teri_Kanefield

Bookmark this. Print it out. Stick a spike in it and nail it to the wall.

Twice a year, go through all your sh** and purge. Get rid of stuff. You will move someday. If you do this now and continue to do it regularly, you will spare yourself weeks of wondering why the Hell you have two melon ballers, three drills, and six thousand mugs when it comes time to move.

@dancinyogi we used to move about every two years so we would regularly clear things out. Now we haven’t moved in over 15 years. Not good. I am currently sitting amongst a mountain of boxes in my living room, because I had to empty out everything from my kitchen, laundry, room, pantry, and hall bathroom because, I’m having the cabinets painted in those rooms. Oh my word. It’s not pretty. They are also painting the family room so all of the furniture from the family room is also here in the living room.

What is going on with people and injuries/accidents??

I ducked out to get the mail, and my neighbor's partner said Brian broke his wrist today. He slipped and fell outside of his office.
I've lost count of how many people have had accidents or been injured in the last week - some here, some IRL. SMH.

'Wearing make-up" includes whether you wear 'just a little' or a lot at any given time.

@dancinyogi Hard to say because there’s a big difference between a full face of makeup (almost never these days) or a quick swipe of eyeliner and a little eye shadow. The latter I do almost always when going out in the world or a zoom call. The former has to be something damn special.

Anyone who spends any time in a hospital will quickly see how much nurses do for their patients. They make an enormous difference. I really admire and respect what they do, and am not shy to say so. Next time you have the chance, thank a nurse.

@dancinyogi my mother has a home health care nurse who is an absolute rockstar. I called her supervisor last week and I said she is beyond amazing. Please give her a high five and buy her a cookie. The supervisor said that they really go above and beyond when someone takes the extra time to call and say something like that. It took me less than five minutes and probably made her day. Who can you call and rave about today?

There are some things I miss. This one occurred to me as I listen to my playlist.

I miss putting a record on the player, lifting the needle, and gently resting it on the spinning vinyl. For a few seconds, the speakers reflect that familiar crackling sound, then the music begins.

For some reason, I miss that. Digital is great, but the ritual of putting a record on the player and hearing that 'crackle' made the experience more personal and less 'remote'.

Random for using the : not everyone is going to like you, or agree with you when you post something--just like in real life (or on other social networks)--stop expecting everyone to be exactly like you. That is what mute, block, filter is for. Also, if you're very sensitive to that, post "followers only" and NOT public, and block/remove people that annoy you. (this is not aimed at any one person or thing, just an observation of various gripes going around).

@evan the only reason I said the country is, it’s quieter. The one thing I can’t deal with in a city is the noise and traffic. But no matter what it’s got to be a strictly blue area.

@liaizon I am one of the Evernote experts. They didn’t fire all of their employees. They are relocating their base of operations to Europe. An Italian tech company bought out Evernote at the beginning of the year. They are moving their operations over there.
