Lots of comments recently on my channel from people immediately NOPEing on an app with a subscription.

I'm starting to feel like the App Store wrecked people's expectations for what software they can use with basically zero cost. When everything was like $1-5, you could buy every single cool app that people talked about, and not really feel the pain.

Downside is companies could not sustain themselves on that little revenue, so many didn't make it.

@matt I understand the nope-to-subs perspective, but they are out of touch with reality. There’s no other sustainable way to create commercial indie software for iOS. It’s either subs or free hobbyware.

Also, while the anti-substers are very vocal, in my opinion they’re a vocal minority of zealots. Developers should ignore them, not placate them.

PSA for anyone who uses Gmail but wants a good native Mac app, Mimestream is finally out of beta an 1.0 launched! Yah, it is subscription, no, I dont care! Easiest $30 I’ve spent on software in ages! You know how if you flick a scroll view, you can just touch your finger on the screen to stop it or to start scrolling again? How do you accomplish a similar effect with a pan gesture recognizer and animation?

I've tried a custom gesture recognizer that immediately starts on touch down, but the state change doesn't get sent fast enough (there's a short delay between the update and it propagating as you can see in the video).

Anyone play around with this before?

@christianselig yeah I dunno what else it's missing, or if this changed recently.

For me, with that change, it'll only send the target / action for began once the touch is released -_-
