I know some people won't be able to avoid it (including myself, they'll probably upgrade my work laptop to it sooner than later), but for my personal stuff, literally everything I've seen about Windows 11 so far suggests logically to ABSOLUTELY AVOID THIS SOFTWARE AT ALL COSTS
Sometimes I run across something I'm not even sure what it is, but I like it. MOONBLADDER is one such thing. Released just a few days ago, this strange, wonderful over 22 minute track (an EP, I guess?) has some of the coolest ambient, avant garde, (harsh-ish) noise, experimental type stuff I've ever heard. For fans of Coil, etc.
There's some wild stuff on Crucial Blast Records, man
As many of you know I'm NOT a fan of black metal normally (unless it's mixed in something like Skeletonwitch) - but I feel like this album that came out in February by Dead Earth is pretty decent black metal (if you're into that kind of thing).
I'm tagging a few who I know enjoy black metal to see if you agree/dig.
Cats are bizarre and hilarious. Cubone is our tuxedo male, he's 8 this year and has this weird love/hate thing with water. He's afraid of it but also obsessed with it. I suspect he worships a water god. He loves little pom-pom balls and bubbles, too. And he's weirdly obsessed with hair?
Lola is our calico female, and she's 5 this year. She is obsessed with wire and rubbing alcohol. @druidess makes jewelry and if you even PICK UP or take a wire out of somewhere, even QUIETLY, she WILL hear it and come over instantly. Even from another room. Same with alcohol. She smells it instantly. She licks art done with alcohol markers. So strange. 😂
@jake4480 huh I had a cat who was obsessed with water too. She insisted on having running water. But when she drank she would sometimes jolt back, like she wasn't expecting it to be wet. She did that her whole life.
And yeah I don't think there's any such thing as a normal cat. They're all weird.
@baldur interesting. I'd never really thought about why HTML & CSS are often considered "not real programming". Kinda similar to people thinking Python is not a "serious" language.
I released 3 albums in 2023! Between the three of them they cover almost the entirety of my ambitions and interests as an artist, from relatively accessible and musical (but still deeply weird and psychedelic) instrumental electronic music to barely coherent explorations of nose, timbre and time.
They're all hosted at Bandcamp, but once I complete my physical move in the next few weeks and get settled, I'll be looking for a new primary home for my music in '24.
I'd like to follow/be mutuals with every #musician and #MusicFan on Mastodon, and I bet I don't even have 10% of y'all in my follow list yet! Let's start to fix that!
Reasons for music fans to follow me:
I am mutuals with a HUGE number of musicians, and I promote the fuck out of them, so you'll be exposed to lots of new music
I write about at least a half dozen of these artists every month, giving you some insight into what they make and why you might like it
my new album 'Northbound' has been released today 🎈
I have been working on it for the last two years and I'm excited to share it now.
It contains #downtempo music as well as #electronic#club#music with elements of #Soul & #Afro and on three of the tracks wonderful vocalist #Jepka is featured again. Really happy to see it released now and thanks to everyone who supported/bought it already 🙌
