I follow quite a few bands and labels on #Bandcamp and it astounds me how many albums some indie labels release, one seems weekly another bi-weekly. I have no idea how they do it, what they do with inventory or are they selling that much? #music#BuyMusic
I saw a post somewhere else about the founder of political site Splinter mad that it’s being resurrected after it was shuttered by G/O then sold to Paste. You got your money. YOU CASHED OUT! This shit drives me crazy, don’t take the money if you’re worried that your creation will be hollowed out, shut down, and sold for parts.
Every time I am at the grocery store or Target, I find shopping carts in disarray. I mutter to myself every time “what the hell is wrong with people” as I put away the stray or disorganized carts. #MoralCharacter
Die Kreuzen goes post-punk. Just as good but in a different way. Doesn’t really sound like any other post-punk sure there’s bits of Bauhaus and others but it sounds like Die Kreuzen. Many people were disappointed with this follow up to their self-titled but how good would a rehash of that been? VoiVod covered “Man In The Trees”. #DieKreuzen#OctoberFile#postPunk#voivod#np#NowPlaying
The internet is a transaction. All of it. What are you willing to give up to access something. Some things the barrier is almost nothing but your time. Sometimes it’s giving your private information up. Each person will chose what access is worth to them and why they make the decision. Some people may not know what the price is, and upon finding out still choose to pay whatever the cost is. Just let it go. #internet#socialmedia
There are good people still making for profit software. Rogue Amoeba apps are top notch and have been for years. I find their tools essential for my audio needs. Mac only, which I’m sure people will bitch about but there was a time where it was the norm on a Mac to have great small company apps that were Mac only. #RogueAmoeba#apple#Mac#rogueamoebasoftware
I have a Facebook lurker account for some bands and restaurants that only have a #Facebook presence. That’s all I follow. Every few days the send me “friend” suggestions. Never anything to do with what I follow. It’s usually been high school girls or people pretending to be a high school girl. That’s fucked up. Today I got one from a woman that apparently works at Hustler. Seems to me like Facebook is promoting sex trafficking. Maybe the US DOJ should take a look? #sextrafficking
More of this from popular artists: “I’ll be happy to tell you I’m very fucking comfortable talking politics,” Williams says. “If you vote for Ron DeSantis, you’re fucking dead to me. Is that comfortable enough for anyone?” #DontStayInYourLane
What is the obsession with flying cars? People can’t navigate 4 way stops or roundabouts much less adding another dimension to figure out. If this comes to pass there will be a lot of carnage. Can I get a nice train system? #flyingCars
@historyofpunkrock Die Kreuzen s/t I was a metal head. Day one I was into Metallica and people were saying they sound like punk. I asked my cousin to make me a punk tape a while I liked a lot of it, Die Kreuzen stood out as they were great and from my home town. Furious and unique. https://youtu.be/BDdlX80dgYI?si=Ju8EAWpOuNR8AYg9
For the past few days I’ve just felt exhausted every morning… besides my bike ride and short walk over the weekend I haven’t had any energy to got out and do anything. I did yard work Sunday and that exhausted me. Maybe I should see my doctor…
@rasterweb just got back to working out, bike ride tomorrow. Had a headache for a few days , realized it was my neck and shoulder muscles. I’ve been treating that with the massage gun and some icy hot, success.
January 18, 1981 – Wendy O. Williams of The Plasmatics was arrested on stage at The Palms nightclub in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and was charged with “lewd and lascivious” behavior for the offense of simulating sex with a sledgehammer
@historyofpunkrock The Milwaukee Police were notorious for this type of thing. A few years later they raided a punk club called Yano’s and after that the cops kicked the crap out of kids at a Social Distortion show.
I’m in this video somewhere so is @rasterweb https://youtu.be/ppufFqCBRUY?si=CmuMuqTpapoLptg_

Maggots: The Record is the fourth and the last studio album by American rock singer Wendy O. Williams and her band Plasmatics, released on February 18, 1987.
@historyofpunkrock a weird one for sure. Only six songs, well actually five, with the dialog between. Thrash Metal. Even though I like the W.O.W. albums this is a nice return to the more intense punk/thrash. Still unique musically.
