    To that I want to say we owe more to lumberjacs and tall ships. Why not bring them back while you are at it.

    I don't understand why this misconception happens:

    "If a number is irrational then the decimal expansion goes on forever and never repeats.

    "Therefore every finite sequence of numbers must appear somewhere."

    This is clearly, demonstrably false, and yet some people cling to it, dismissing any attempt to explain why it's not true.

    They're not stupid, so:

    • Why do they believe it?

    • Why do they reject the demonstration that it's false?

    I don't understand ...

    uses drones made by to destroy civilian infrastructure and murder civilians in Ukraine. Yet, Ukraine does not declare war on Iran.

    So why is NATO afraid of Ukraine using its weapons to strike military targets in Russia? Is NATO really such a cowardly bunch that they fear a Russian attack? Something doesn't sound right.

    needs to grow up. Stop giving Russia sanctuary. Give long-range missiles and let the Ukrainian army strike where the come from.

    @danjac @joaocosta @Pampa OK, USSR break-up went fairly well, at least the baltics seem to have got out from under OK, and Ukraine gave up their nukes (!) . For the rest of the old soviets, we'll never know how it could have gone, but they are certainly not out of the woods yet.

    Trump has tried multiple times to rile his idiot base to show up in big numbers at whatever courthouse he's visiting.

    They never show. Tiny numbers, aimless morons with deranged signs & costumes.

    @zombierustpunk I've never been in that situation, but it strikes me that the biggest problem is that there ACTUALLY ARE UNIT TESTS ON GENDER! That's really F*ed. And yes, there are. They start in kindergarden -- "You want pink? How about this blue one instead"

Having different truths for different purposes is not how you do . is supposed to be vital in someone you pick to represent you.     Possibly the earliest illustration of the tale you know as "The Three Billy-Goats Gruff" (but which is really called, "The Three Billy-Goats Bruse"). This one is from George Dasent's A Selection from the Norse Tales (1862), and predates any Norwegian illustration (that I know of so far).

    @StillIRise1963 @Judeet98 What are you asking? If I was unclear, what I mean is that ostracizing collaborators ended up affecting the weak and vulnerable the most. Bystanders came out of the shadows after the war, attacking the small cogs to make themselves feel patriotic, while the big fish just got some scowls, and kept on running their business, keeping their war-profits.
