First exit poll results of Polish elections are available, and based on these it looks like PiS might not remain in power, which would be good news. Let's wait for official results though!

About 73% of eligible voters voted. That is massive and phenomenal. Probably best result in any elections in since 1989. 🎉

But two things I am mainly interested in are:

  • the result of Konfederacja, the far-right libertarians

  • how many people voted in the referendum part of this election cycle

@Loukas A factoid on that: The Swedish neo-nazis have been trying to spread their organisation to Norway. This has been covered in Norway, but very low-key. Same for our home-grown hate-groups, very low-key coverage. No PR before their "rallies". The strategy is don't give them oxygen. It has been somewhat successful.

Hespetre = spinner’s weasel: a machine to create skeins of yarn from spinner’s reels. once the skein is at length, the wheel makes a popping sound. (Pop goes the weasel, innit?)
Hespetre = yarnwinder: the simplest form of weasel, consisting of a shaft and crossbars at each end, as seen in Leonardo da Vinci’s Madonna of the Yarnwinder (image 1), as seen in Otto Sinding’s illustration of East of the Sun (image 2), and as seen in the Oseberg ship (from the year 834 - image 3 is a close approximation).

Garnvinde = yarnswift: a machine to hold the skein while it is wound into balls (the opposite operation from that of the hespetre).

It has literally taken me years to come to this understanding.

Now if you will excuse me, I have to go and edit the bloody folktales one more time for luck.

@randahl Yes, there is corruption, yes there are Nazis. Ukraine is the frontline in fighting this, as well as in the conventional war. We've got strongmen dismantling democracy in Hungary and Poland. Euromaidan chased Ukraines "Quisling" Viktor Yanukovych out. Putin lost his lap-dog, and is about to lose Ukraine as a play-ground for his oligarchs. Ukraine is moving forcefully towards a liberal, tolerant democracy.
If we leave Ukraine to hang, we lose the war for our souls.

RUMINT suggests that is pushing heavily past Opytne towards Donezk Airport.

This is quite the interesting, yet very smart move.
RU is forced to reinforce FAST (and weaken elsewhere), they can not allow Ukraine actually entering Donezk City.
