Weird to see not a single post about Russia's active civil war on my Mastodon. Sadly have to stick to Twitter for current events for now :/

More than 4.3 million listens so far on Prigozhin's retreat announcement. The most popular emoji reaction is, you guessed it, a 🤡. https://t.co/g8Dtst7sHS

Glenn Greenwald: Mercenaries, whom I do not support, are acting like Nazis, whom I do not support, when they threaten Russia, which I do not support, instead of battling Ukraine, which I do not support, at the best of the West, which I do not support.

Whatever is going on right now in , I do note this: is now useless at tracking this. Junk accounts everywhere, no verified accounts, swarms of sketchy bluechecks.

The ONE thing that place was good at was breaking global news. But not now.

See everyone here tonight.

Contrary to reports by state media outlet TASS, OSINT analyst Ruslan Leviev says the armed men in Rostov-on-Don aren’t Wagner fighters but the Defense Ministry’s soldiers. I’m not sure how this explains why they’ve all got their guns pointed at the MOD building though... https://t.co/ByFFwIKCq4

I am shocked that my plan to bolster my moribund military by letting some of the shadiest and most unreliable people in the country raise and arm entire divisions worth of mercenaries personally loyal to them, then throwing them into a bloody and controversial military conflict while at the same time allowing them to get into a constantly-escalating feud with my own corrupt military establishment has somehow gone horribly wrong! 🙃

The thixomolded magnesium alloy Bottom Cover is the main structural part of the Framework Laptop 16, and lets us achieve <18mm thickness in a robust, rigid form factor: https://frame.work/blog/framework-laptop-16-deep-dive---enclosure

Sliding in a Graphics Module with a discrete GPU, the back section of the laptop goes to <21mm, enabling much higher thermal capacity.

Still dreaming up retrogaming-related student projects. A few years ago, a Kent student with only 1 year of CS ported a C64 Pong game to run on the Gigatron TTL computer, which was a very nice achievement.

Of course, Apple II is the next step. Can anyone explain to me why despite Wikipedia saying at 280x192 it supports only 6 colours, game screenshots show more? E.g. this allegedly runs on a 128K IIe (i.e. not a IIgs nor using double-HR mode): https://www.mobygames.com/game/114/space-quest-chapter-i-the-sarien-encounter/screenshots/apple2/296100/
