Then fucking pay for it honestly or fucking perish, you fucking grifters.

Okay, so the kids and I filled out all our stuff online, made the appointments, went in...and the pharmacist refused us Covid vaccine, saying we had to be 65+.

I don't even know what the fuck.

My site's firewall informs me that we're now at 1526 blocks of the ChatGPT bot’s attempts to scrape/steal my content to train their plagiarism sauce.

I'll say it again, there is no ethical use of LLMs/“AI”s at this point. You know the ecological devastation, the plagiarism, and the racism. Just don’t use it, even for lulz.

My portal fantasy MOON'S KNIGHT (which drove at least one Amazon reviewer to distraction because the protagonist, during the funeral of her best friend, has harsh words for God) is on sale for $3.99USD in ebook today! https://books2read.com/moonsknight

I've reached the, “no, this scene isn't getting done today, watch some Letterkenny clips instead" part of exhaustion, so there's that, I guess.

Me: "...and so I think this character wants to kill God.”

My daughter: “Totes fair."

My son: “Yeah, whomst amongst us…or is it whomst among? I always wonder."

I'm hearing chatter that Grammarly has just admitted to using its users' work to train an AI--without consent. That means it's been stealing/scraping your work and writing, without compensation.

If you use that particular service, you might want to look into that.

Ebook prices have been kept artificially low for a long time, mostly because of Amazon. The pushback to that is starting to see some traction now, accompanied by predictable howls of faux-outrage.

Almost like several writers were yelled at and harassed for predicting years ago…so weird…

This week, in Authors Behaving Badly…

Given how hard it is to keep track of one's own actual socials, why on earth would anyone want to sockpuppet? Just a whole lotta wasted time/effort that would be better spent ACTUALLY WRITING.

It's bloody unconscionable that Covid vaccines and things like Paxlovid are being privatized, after taxpayer money funded research and development. The correct price for a vaccine is $0. The correct price for Covid treatment in this, the fourth year of the pandemic, is $0.

Authors absolutely do not mind that Goodreads is for readers. Authors mind that it’s a cesspit full of toxicity because we’re not seen as human beings there, just easily available punching bags. The ease of harassment and brigading attracts the worst behavior, and Goodreads allows it by design.

The news about marijuana becoming Schedule III is nice, but I can't help wondering if it's happening simply because cops have decided another pretense works just as well for terrorizing their victims and so are willing to let go of this one.
