NES, NES controller (single) and a PS5 controller (white).
A ribbon cable comes out from the bottom of the NES and plugs into a Taito paddle controller.
A wireless NES controller and wired SNES controller sit on a table. The SNES controller is plugged into SNES ports at the side of the console (they sit in a device outside the console).

They do it because the restrictions on shipping batteries. I think it’s wasteful too.

When it happened to me, there was even air cushion packs in the box.

So there's an SDL implementation of the Titus platformer tech that lets you play Blues Brothers and Prehistorik 2 on modern systems with some customization options. Sadly the main repo has been set to archived, and none of the forks ever published any releases.
Maybe a kind person with everything already installed can compile this, most recently updated, fork and provide a binary publicly?

I was impatient. Create files as large as you can (dd) until the purgeable space is normal, then delete the files created. As you run out of free space it dips into purgable. When the space is only a few giant files the space recovery is faster.

Not that I can find. Tried instances​.social API but nothing for search features data. Then tried checking my own instance API which does have full text search enabled (elasticsearch), but so far haven't found a call that would let anyone know this.

If there was a public API call you could make to get this data, then it would just be a matter of iterating over known instances.

Those searches would be better suited for determining if the server had been upgraded to 4.2.0 rather than if elasticsearch is installed. You can find out the server version via the web UI or an API call, so thats not useful.

Also, search is quite limited if you aren't authenticated. The same query for "has:media" or "has:poll" doesn't come up with any posts or polls if you aren't authenticated with an account on the instance but does when you are.

Full-text search does require elasticsearch, an optional component. has:media and has:poll aren't full-text searches but rather property searches that don't require an index of words from a post or hash tags.

Full-text search with elasticsearch existed before v4.2.0, it was just limited to your own instance data. Now it's extended to instances you are federated with that also have elasticsearch enabled.
