I've been loving Manu's People and Blogs series, but one thing that has caught my eye is how much some people are paying to run their blogs. Sometimes, it's much more than I can afford and, I suspect, more than many beginning bloggers are willing or able to shell out.

If a desktop environment follows you, would you feel the obligation to try it?

Like its almost as if this was meant to be, it looks similar to MacOS which I use atm... spooky

We're rewriting our Android + iOS mobile apps to be faster, leaner and easier to use!

If you're participating in our Android and iOS open betas, the new app will be rolling out in the next week or two. We anticipate a general app store release in May or June 🚀

I've been approached by a few people/platforms about partnering up for the official Pixelfed hosting service

It would be nice to not have to worry about that, but at the same time, this could help fund sustainable development

The PoC I wrote is pretty cool, everything is automated from checkout to logging in, and there is a basic dashboard for admins

When you browse feeds on our app, you can tap the 3 dot menu and tap the "Why you're seeing this post" to learn more about the context.

We call these System Cards, and they help explain why you're seeing a particular post.

This will become more important soon as we release custom algorithmic feeds, don't worry though, chronological feeds will remain the default 😉 #pixelfed #discovery #systemCards

Red Hat answered a lot of the concerns about their last move. Makes sense to me, reading this.
I’m not saying I totally agree with the move, but I understand why they’re doing it.
