The younger people here might not remember how dramatically better a form factor the iPad 2 was over the original iPad. It was hard to believe it was a year-over-year update; at the time, Samsung even halted its imminent Galaxy Tab 10.1 launch in a panic and went back to the drawing board to try and achieve something closer to the iPad design.

I think perhaps Vision Pro 2 needs to be an iPad 2; make the [inevitable] competitors panic.

Let's just say I regret updating it all the way to its maximum supported version because it became SLOW.

Any Vision Pro video that even mentions the price, or Meta’s Quest, is talking to completely the wrong audience, IMO. It's a luxury novelty for rich people, and/or a developer kit. You already know which category applies to you; if you have to agonize about the price for more than 2 seconds, you probably shouldn't be buying it — there will be a version, someday, that’s designed for you, but this isn't the one

    Farewell, Apple Infinite Loop. Opened in 1993 as The Company Store and preceding all other Apple Stores, Infinite Loop sold Apple-branded merchandise exclusively at this location. The store was remodelled and rebranded as an Apple Store in 2015. It closes on January 20.

    This is why I don't bother with using printers anymore. I don't even wanna get into the mess of 3D printing.

    January 24 is gonna be the 40th anniversary of the launch of the original Macintosh. If Apple is really convinced about Vision being the foundation of the future of computing, I could see hitting that anniversary date in some way as a real juicy marketing target, even if deliveries don't start until some time in February.

    @nixCraft I'm the "I run both Linux AND WIndows" guy. Linux is my main OS since a few months ago, but I still run Windows on some occasions incase there's an app that has no Linux version. I don't feel like using Wine.

    As well as Mastodon's built-in hashtag following system, you can also follow hashtags through RSS instead:

    1. Search for a hashtag on a Mastodon server's website
    2. Add .rss to the end of the URL
    3. Use this URL as the feed address for that tag

    For example to subscribe to on mstdn.social you would use this address in your feed reader:
