I saw a comment on a recent ArsTechnica article on #Apple killing #PWA s in the EU that stated "nobody uses PWAs". (Protip: never, ever, read the comments 🙄). Not including @phanpy , I have an entire folder of PWAs on my #Android homescreen.
Additionally, these run in the browser of my choice @Vivaldi so they include ad and tracker blocking. I get UberEATS without having to install the Uber app. It's brilliant and extremely sad so many have been deceived about these. #webdev
@andrew@baseball I think the Dodgers own their broadcast rights completely. If that's the case, they can likely leverage that a lot more than other teams.
So what's the deal with Flathub for Fedora? I want to install VLC on my new computer, and VLC says to use something called rpmfusion. But I also see VLC is in Flathub. Are there pros/cons between them? In general should I be installing from Flathub or only using it if there's no other options?
@brettcannon I think rpmfusion is a like a "3rd party repo" kinda thing. In this case probably because VLC ships with non-free codecs so it can't be in the main repo.
I find my best mobile Mastodon experience is in a mobile browser (usually Firefox). I find it just as easy to navigate as any app and I also have access to all my lists and settings. I just reloaded the apps this evening to see if I felt improvement (I did not).
What’s your preferred mode of mobile Mastodon? Feel free to add details in the replies.

National Association of Watch and Clock Collectors Chaper 21 (Denver) asked if I would give a presentation on my design progress. That's fun. But maybe I should get a working pendulum/escapement first?
Next up, pitching clock talks to web conferences… Something about the front end (motionworks, dial), backend (going train, escapement, oscillator), and (strike/chime/alarm) event handlers…?
Very much enjoying #BombRushCyberfunk. It runs great on #SteamDeck and the soundtrack is dope. I never played Jet Set Radio but I did play lots of Tony Hawk Pro Skater back in the day, and though the trick system is different, it still gets the vibes right. Normally I'm a "discount gamer" but I paid full price on day one for this...
I'm still trying to find a good Mastodon front end or app. I tried Tuba, but I don't care for it. I'm using Elk right now, and I'm mixed on it. May end up making that my first project. I'm rusty af on JS and I know no Ruby at all. My HTML and CSS is better than it was, but still rusty af.
@thelinuxcast I recently switched to @phanpy on mobile web (haven't tried on desktop) and really like it. It describes itself as "opinionated" so some of the interface changes may not be for you and are not customizable, but for me it strikes the right balance.
