The LA Times is asking if Republicans are now so anti-government, they can no longer govern. The answer is obvious. At this point, we must ask: has the GOP become so anti-democracy, it no longer wants America to exist?

When a GOP congressman calls for the execution of an army general, that isn't just homophobia -- it is also a death threat and sedition. Lock these Republican bigoted traitors up and launch the key into orbit.

As MAGA flocks to Florida to escape the modern world, they are demanding that Ron DeSantis bans the COVID vaccine. Walking towards the light doesn't seem like the best life hack, but do you honestly think we can convince them otherwise?

When it comes to Donald Trump, it appears even for Republicans absence doesn't make the heart grow fonder. After Don skipped the recent debate to spend time mugging it up in Georgia, his polling took a bigly nosedive. Poor guy.

The fascist Republican agenda has FAILED yet again. Ohio now joins Kansas and Kentucky in rejecting the GOP's war against women. Today is yet another victory for CHOICE, COMMON SENSE, and FREEDOM.

According to Dorito Don, being indicted is helping his reelection chances and “We only need one more indictment to close out this election.” Is Donald Trump correct that being labelled a criminal in multiple trials will help him? Or -- in typical fashion -- is he just getting his grift on?

Under the DeSantis regime, schools will now indoctrinate kids to believe that slavery was a “personal benefit” to the enslaved because they “developed skills.”

As Republicans take an axe to child labor laws, they are teaching children that exploitation sets you free. The GOP is not only coming for African Americans, but the bodies and souls of our children.

The fascist government in Italy is removing the names of lesbian couples from birth certificates. What were once loving parents, are now -- in the eyes of the law -- no more than strangers. Whether we are talking about Italy or the US, conservatism hates love.

stopgopfox,

@TonyStark I hope you are having a great evening with this news. 😀 Such a major blow to terrible people out there who said someone like Trump is above justice.

stopgopfox,

@TJ @alfredo_liberal @TonyStark Mitch has just been waiting for a bus to push Trump under. It wouldn't be a huge shock to see Mitch testify against him at one of these trials haha.

We already have superheroes. And they are the everyday people -- from the blue voters to Joe and Kamala -- who work to keep America free, safe, and decent. Thank you to y'all.

After years of stirring hatred and violence, Republicans in Florida are now pleading for migrants not to leave. The MAGA movement loves talking about hard work, but they sure do seem scared at the prospect of having to do it.

My plan for the next 18 years includes enjoying my work and my hobbies, traveling a little, and seeing my daughter off to college.

Then again, I did not commit sedition against American democracy. I’ll enjoy thinking about Rhodes while I enjoy my freedom. On my less ambitious days, maybe I’ll sit on a lawn chair outside his prison with a "Biden Won" billboard behind me for shade.

Oath Keeper Stewart Rhodes will spend 18 years in prison, longest sentence yet-

@TonyStark I wonder if any part of him is actually starting to regret it all. He'll be 75, bitter, and with few prospects if/when he emerges from his dark cell.

They will both lose because even older voters like their Constitutional rights as well as their Social Security and Medicare. Typical headline here, though.

How DeSantis Is Trying to Lure Older Voters Away From Trump-

stopgopfox,

@TonyStark They are literally fighting over crumbs of an ever-shrinking pie. And considering Trump got stomped in 2020, maybe someone could -- you know -- make an effort to cater to younger voters rather than demonize them.

Republicans may not accept the facts on climate change, but insurance companies do.

Florida flood insurance costs are about to explode. ZIP codes closest to the coast will pay the most-
https://www.sun-sentinel.com/2023/05/19/flood-insurance-costs-are-about-to-explode-zip-codes-closest-to-the-coast-will-pay-the-most/

stopgopfox,

@TonyStark Honestly, it wouldn't surprise me if climate change is something the GOP wants to affect Florida. The same way the GOP has tried to salt the earth in Texas to keep it from flipping blue, it appears Florida Republicans would love to see those in blue cities flee from the state -- pushing the state further right and making it even easier for the party to pick the bones of whatever is left. Mobsters through and through.

Chris Licht is a moron. The CNN CEO believed he could court the MAGA crowd without losing the left. Instead, the network now finds itself hemorrhaging viewers and in the ratings basement behind Newsmax. Fire him.

Today a jury ruled what many of us already knew in our hearts -- Donald Trump is a sexual predator. Now, if you still stand with him -- you stand for the sexual abuse of women and girls and with their abusers.

A few years ago, my wife and I were on the highway in West Texas when a shooter opened fire on many vehicles. We were lucky to make it. Assault weapons are part of our lives, but they don't have to be. We can do better. And we must.

There are two very wrong, very dangerous claims being made in my mentions right now. One is that nothing ever happens on gun safety. The other is that Democrats have done nothing on the issue.

There’s even an odd third one claiming Democrats haven’t been bipartisan enough on it. These claims are not only wrong but dangerous to efforts to elect people to office who will bring more change. They’re dangerous to efforts to save more lives. Don’t spread such things if you care about helping. 1/3

stopgopfox,

@TonyStark Most of these are bad faith actors making bad faith claims. I'm not sure if many foreign ops are on here or not, but plenty of right wingers gleefully figure out ways to suck the energy out of the left with the time tested method of divide and conquer. The good news is they typically reveal their game pretty quick, which makes blocking easy enough.

Gun violence is now the leading cause of death among children in the United States.

Every developed nation has people with mental illness, video games, disgruntled ex-employees, alienated people, homicidal and suicidal persons, etc. Why does the U.S. have the problem it does?

It’s the same things it always is- the number of firearms, access to them, fetishism surrounding the 2nd Amendment, and the immense political power of the firearms industry.

Not a Republican has the courage to step up.

stopgopfox,

@TonyStark So true. In particular "fetishism" around 2A and guns is coinciding with these shootings representing a chance for sad, angry men to dream they will be the one to stop a mass shooter.

There is so much iconography of Rambo and hyper-masculinity that almost relishes the chance to do battle in our streets (typically against another race). American masculinity has become so toxic, to some degree it wants to lock horns with disaster just to prove something. It's sad and infuriating.

stopgopfox,

@rwba @TonyStark I think since virtually everyone on the left and center cares about dead kids, many of us believe the right must care about dead children. But as North Carolina's lieutenant governor's statements show -- the GOP is not above mocking survivors of shootings (or dead victims).

I've started to notice a shift on the left to recognize that Republicans not only don't care about shootings, but actively don't mind them if it is advantageous politically in some way.

stopgopfox,

@seldear @Toniboloni @TonyStark It's the guns, 100%. But even with no guns, we need to work on some stuff in terms of toxic values and politics. We're in a bad way.

Our classrooms have become such warzones, a school district in Michigan has now banned backpacks for safety reasons. Guns are the instrument, yet again we see bans on everything... but. the. guns.

https://abcnews.go.com/US/michigan-school-district-bans-backpacks-school-buildings-citing/story?id=99017440

stopgopfox,

@wakame True -- there are so many ways around security procedures. Even tons of metal detectors do nothing with things made with 3d printers.
