I just stumbled across @MLE_online 's ~7min tutorial on how to make a 3D printed part look like a metal one with paint that's chipped off.

Very straightforward, and involves a technique i would NOT have considered.

@masukomi @MLE_online Ha, neat, I'm definitely pinching that! I was guessing at maybe a solvent that would take off the outer yellow but not the silver, but I like the masking technique.

@_thegeoff @MLE_online i feel like using a solven’t wouldn’t look like natural flaking and would be hard to prevent from eating the layers of paint you eant to keep. But I haven’t tried that so 🤷‍♀️
