I didn't like it either. Although, it occurred to me that if I had read it prior to my mid 20s, I probably would have finished it anyway.

@llewelly Best improvements in my enjoyment:

  1. Started to ditch all that aren't good after 50 pages.
  2. Sorted my Goodreads queue on page count and started reading the thinnest books first.
  3. Made a list of my 50 favourite authors and started looping through it on repeat.

mostly agreed, except I can't stand goodreads. I often feel I'm the only book reader in the world who feels this way, but goodreads makes my skin crawl. (I also can't stand amazon).
