We've all realized that politicians and corporates won't work to de-escalate/ slowdown the climate crisis, and that ordinary people on't have the power to make them do anything.
People are starting to fight back with direct action and instead of listening to us, the media fuels campaigns of hate against them and governments implement new powers to control and prevent them. We can’t win
I sorta hate the way these title sound because I imagine folk who think its a blip and will go back whereas we have no capacity for recovery back to normal.
ABC had reported the decreased sea ice levels as a 5-sigma event, a 1 in 7.5 Million year event. With updated information, iflscience says its a 6-sigma event , a 1 in 13 Billion year event. so a bit not good.
The ABC reported this year’s ice extent as a five sigma event, which would be expected once in 7.5 million years, but either they were using the data from weeks ago, or understated the situation so as not to appear ridiculous. As the chart shows, we are now at a value of -6.4. That, as retired Professor Eliot Jacobson noted, should only happen once in every 13 billion years with a normal distribution in a constant environment.
