i'm astounded by how far on has come since the last time i seriously used linux, which was probably ... 2010?

not only are older games and several newer games now natively packaged for linux, play + works for so much that dual-booting is so far from my mind.

i could see still being necessary for brand-new 'triple-a' stuff, unfortunately; but let's hope that's not the case for much longer.

@buru5 It's really impressive, I no longer have to use my dualboot except for some exotic scanning software once in a while. I've been playing Baldurs Gate 3, Elden Ring, No Mans Sky, The Witcher 3 Next Gen without any tinkering :vaultboy: The only thing that still needs work and optimization is raytracing and DLSS and I hope linux gaming or rather Nvidia will get there this year.

@chris Chiming in to tell you I got some raytracing working on Doom Eternal on my OS. I don't know the full extent of how its supposed to work but it is pretty promising.

@buru5 mostly you only have to dual boot for super intrusive anti cheat things for competitive shooters and gatcha casinos.

I don't like either so I've pretty much moved completely to Linux land on my handheld.
