@GottaLaff what is the conflict? That she had a romantic relationship with a co-worker? I just don't get how this is a conflict that affects his or any case.
It's embarrassing, sure. But a conflict.
It's the appearance, not whether it is or isn't. A reasonable person would question whether he was hired for skills or b/c of his relationship with her. Worse, he spends said money on her.
We demand SCOTUS recuse for possible conflicts like this... They don't but should. This isn't much if at all different.

If not true, everything should move forward. The divorce is old...so why is this an issue now? It's Claudine Gay all over and the high brow folks are like "yes...she should step down." When 6 months ago everyone is celebrating that its the Black women who have the heart to take Trump and his sycophants down. Give me a break.

The point of the ethics rules is to avoid getting into this situation. So it's "If a reasonable person might wonder" as the standard. She hired her romantic partner, had him paid money and that money was spent on 'her'.
That meets reasonable concern to me.
Disclose up front and it's a non issue. That's the entire point to not have bombs thrown in later.

I don't care what meets a reasonable standard to you. Your concern should be whether the grand jurors who sat based their indictment on the facts. That is what the case is about. Question whether the white prosecutors who previously hired him got some benefit from hiring him. And btw in your mind would he be able to spend NONE of his salary on her if it had nothing to do with the case? Or, his salary not his because she hired him?!

He's allegedly spending his own money (ie his salary) on his girlfriend. Big fucking deal.
If he was improperly claiming these as business expenses, that would be a scandal. But this isn't.
Wade is, despite numerous stupid claims, perfectly well qualified for the position, and a good choice by many accounts. Even if Willis helped break up his marriage (apparently not), that's irrelevant.

@GottaLaff I sincerely don’t understand what the “conflict” is. I get that there is alleged unethical behavior unrelated to the case. But am I incorrect in understanding that these two people are supposed to be acting in concert and in coordination, towards the same goal? And the defendant is claiming that it’s a conflict that two people who are supposed to be on the same side have a personal relationship and therefore might influence each other?
@GottaLaff Ah yes the age old “dem must be saintly angel with absolutely not even a parking ticket" to prosecute the guy who has already been found liable for sexually assaulting someone, has a business already found liable of fraud, and has more other indictments than most people have had jobs. Had seen. Karen Agnifilo Friedman disagrees and has a more thorough take. Also, Fani’s defenses against attacks on her and her case have been… legendary. We’ll see, but the fact that a consensual relationship between two *single adults is being raised by a host of folks whose names *could appear to the surprise of no one on the Epstein lists is absurd.
