This clearly seems to follow up the VyrCossont's idea of the extended search feature that finds public posts.

@raimalarter It's still optional for admins. Some admins won't implement it because of the resources or anti-search/anti-abuse opinions. Don't know about writing.social.

What I would like to see is being able to curate your own home feed by prioritizing your followers by assigning them a number between 0 and 3. 0 is default. 💪 #MastodonUpdate#MastodonAdmin 🙏
@rolle i dont like this. I dont know what elastic search is, so i might be talking out my ass. But i love the options that masto gives. I would love the option for specific posts to be public, posts only searchable by tag, and non indexable.
Is my understand right that in this i would either be all public or not public at all? Hot or cold? I would hate that.
@stpaultim@cragsand@rolle Yeah, it's fair enough, I think it makes sense if u want more normies to join. It's just everyone seemed to be saying that it was a good reason why mastodon was different to normal social media.
I just know people are gonna use it to be like « This is what you said to my friend Thomas 13 years ago at 2:03PM , SHAME» like on BirdApp wich is very obnoxious
