  • Hey, how's your day been?

  • Not bad thanks. The local cygnets have hatched. Super cute and fluffy.

  • Nice. Have you got any photos?

  • Nah. Didn't have the camera. Went home for it, but then I couldn't find them again. Walked quite a way too.

  • Oh. You must have been disappointed. You seem to be coping well though.

  • Yes. Yes I am.

@eclectech I've said it before and I'll probably say it again at some point, but everybody needs a chicken for a pillow.

Pennsylvania Avenue Subway, Reading Railroad, Philadelphia, 2004.

Captured with a Fuji GX680 camera, 80mm lens, T-Max 100 film. Some tilt was applied to keep various elements in focus. It was very dark in there.

The Pennsylvania Avenue Subway was built to provide a sub-grade freight connection between the Reading Railroad's main line and its "City Branch". It served the Baldwin Locomotive Works' Callowhill plant and the Philadelphia Inquirer's printing plant, among other Center City industries. Abandoned in the 1980's.

The GX680 was a fun but very unusual camera that couldn't quite decide what it wanted to be. It's a gigantic beast of a medium format SLR camera providing (limited) view camera movements. It shot
120-format roll film with a 6x8cm frame (so a 3:4 aspect ratio), with a built-in autowinder. It's sort of what you'd get if you merged a Nikon F4, a Hasselblad, and a Crown Graphic.

Good Morning, House in the Trees - We've got a wet weekend ahead of us here. Got out at sunrise (sans sun) looking for some shapes in the trees and fog.

🚨 bird alert 🚨

Saw my first black-capped vireo today!! 🥳 They are no longer endangered but still vulnerable and very good at hiding in thick shrubs.

Yesterday, at Heron's Head Park. There weren't many birds for Chris... but I got the broody skies I was hoping for.
