Currently checking out open source and federated alternatives with the whole Reddit charging obscene amounts for API access, basically killing off all of their third party clients.🔥 Glanced at Lemmy but had some concerns regarding the bigger instances... Another project I checked out was KBin which looks promising but has some work cutout to improve their UI.

It’s a long-standing observation of economists that government spending leads to inflation. Probably the simplest model is that the government is increasing demand without increasing supply.
Note that in this model, taxes have a deflationary impact because they reduce demand from individuals.
This is not an opinion on how much government spending is affecting current inflation (nor how much inflation is to blame for any particular category of goods).

100%, although I think it was the other way around. GOP treated the Tea Party as a legitimate movement with ideas worth hearing/catering to. Before long, those same members found themselves either falling in line or challenged from the right in primaries. That group morphed into MAGA, which again was absorbed by the GOP as their new identity.
I just keep practicing most of the covid measures. When I am away I avoid touching my face, when I come home I wash my hands immediately, and I am also getting the optional vaccinations against influenza and the current covid strain whenever appropriate.
Doing this I haven’t been sick for about 5 years now. Haven’t even catched covid during the pandemic.
Going to one up this. When they relaxed the mandates my wife and I realized we had not gotten sick in any way for the period and normally we do once a year so we kept going. We were due about when covid hit and started masking early given the videos out of china. Long and short is we finally got sick with something, but not to bad, after more than 4 years. Anyway we are keeping all the stuff going. Not quite as strictly maybe but if we can be sick 4 times less often then we find it worth it.
Can we stop calling it “slept with a 17 year old”? It’s statutory rape of a minor. He paid an underage prostitute with venmo, the case would be a slam dunk if anyone on the prosecuting side tried.
We, progressive-minded people, certainly can and will. But this is a quote from a Republican politician. Can’t rightly expect them to get two things right at once.
Adding copyright to your posts is cringe and ultimately doesn’t do anything more than the facebook message chains saying “I don’t consent to X Y and Z”
