@BlackAzizAnansi May I suggest getting a peace lily? They last longer than flowers that will die within a week or so. I've purchased them for several family members and friends who've lost loved ones. They really appreciate having something that serves as a lasting memory.
@SharonGibson3 My main concern is the short notice, I was originally going to go with a different flower shop but they wanted contact info for someone at the funeral to receive it and I don't wanna ask the family to coordinate when they have a lot going on so I just went with the inhouse chapel options which aren't the greatest.
Also death is weird. When I initially read that my friend passed I just sat there scrolling on my phone trying to find out what happened while eating an ice cream and when I called my girlfriend like 15 minutes later it all came out and I broke down.
@BlackAzizAnansi learning about death on social media is it's own kind of hell too. I know it's just a broadcasting tool. But you're scrolling through animals pics, political posts then bam. Some you loved is gone. It's very sureal.
@alexisdyslexic I think initially I was going through denial and just thinking "No, this has to be a mistake, they mixed him up with somebody else" :-/
