Does Mastodon have a marketing team? It’s open source so I’m not sure. I’m amazed anyone finds out about it really. But getting a broader audience (younger, and more POC) should definitely be a priority if they do have a marketing team.

@Jaden3@doomsdayrs@boby_biq You know, one of the best ways to find people into whatever you're into is to follow hashtags. You can search a hashtag and then click on it and select" Follow Hashtag," and anyone using it will show up in your feed.
If you also put a call out to people in a new post, you can ask people to recommend accounts to you. (And today is #followfriday .) I could recommend comedy accounts to you but they're on the older side so not sure if that interests you. I'll recommend @the_etrain to start.
It's also good to specify what you're looking for. "I'm looking for accounts of people who are still in their teens! Please boost for a greater reach so I can swim through all this gray hair and find people without back problems!" Something like that. 😆 Anyway, I hope that helps.
@Jaden3 Mastodon reminds me of how socials were before smartphones. More words, less videos. No Nazis. No algorithms, so you get what you give. I’m a young Gen Xer and get the feeling most ppl here are old Gen Xers… more diversity is needed, esp with age/race, ngl. Bring your friends! ♥️
