IMO, finance guys are not qualified to run businesses. (Uncle left a company where he was chief engineer and VP because finance guys took over and required him to justify routine maintenance on the equipment that they used to make money. 1972.)
@drupalchix@CosmicTraveler IBM has experienced the same problem for the past 4 decades. It morphed from a company focused on engineering technology to being a financial manipulation company that happened to be in the technology space.
Oh yeah, absolutely. But I just want to see one single interview where the interviewer just asks them "did you notice that despite being the CEO you act as if absolutely nothing you could have done would have changed things" or better yet "do you think someone who could take responsibility for actually doing their job might have been able to save the company as CEO"? Or best yet "If you're so powerless was it a mistake for them to pay you at all, do you plan to give all the money you made back"?
