@samhainnight Thank you. It was a rough spring. I took care of her in our home while trying to work. Such a nightmarish situation all around. She really believed MA was a good program based on the lies they told her.

@KatM It's called Elderly Healthcare Rationing. My mother was a victim of it. We were told to take her and let her die at home. We treat our elders like dogs in this country.
@lloydlemons Yes, we do. Her doc ignored and dismissed her symptoms for a year. By the time the cancer was discovered, she was Stage 4. Anyone who has persistent lower back pain and is told it's "too much sitting" related, get a second opinion!
My mom was an incredibly strong woman. It was hard to watch her decline into helplessness. I know she hated every minute of it, but we had some very nice moments together in her final months. She'd laugh as I hummed, "I Could Have Danced All Night" and waltzed her late at night to the commode set up in her room. She never wanted to burden anyone. I hate what our healthcare system did to her. She deserved better.
@indivisibleteam my husband is old enough for Medicare and a big problem is it's super confusing to figure out. We are both smart people but couldn't figure out all the different options and alternative things you have to sign up for. I can see why people get sucked into MA because you need to be a freaking lawyer to figure out Medicare sign up options. Why can't it just be an automated process for everyone who is 65???
it takes away your freedom of travel as an older person since you have the same out of network nonsense as any other private health insurance
regular Medicare means you can see any doctor in the US who takes Medicare so when you're old and unable to work, at least you can travel a bit & see something of the country before you go
they want to take EVERYTHING away from us, every small bit of happiness, & leave us with nothing & no hope
