@pixelbar there is not really anything left.

Pixelbar was behind this wall.

I went to the space as soon as the fire was considered to be under control by the firefighters.

The #Keilewerf, that awesome community where we as @pixelbar were allowed to be a part of is gone.

It was a group of enthusiasts, small crafting companies of 1-5 people. There was a used wood store - #Buurman.

You rented an unit within this former hardware store and basically worked crafted, hacked and build in those self build places.

I hope there's a call for community contributions to help rebuild, if that's in the future. I'd be happy to put down towards it.

as @pixelbar we have to rebuild.

We're running a donation page with direct donation possibilities as much as a gofundme.

We want to build the hackerspace up again.

Our space has burned down but not our #community of the #hackerspace #pixelbar

There is a lot we cannot replace but there is also a lot that we can replace.

First we'd have to find and build a new space in there. For that we will need quite some moneyunfortunately.

We will also need a lot of non-financial help where hopefully other hackerspaces can help.

When you move into a new space you bring all of those crates and things into your new space.
We can't do that .... unfortunately.

Because of a fire.

So when we open up @pixelbar we'll throw an opening event and maybe we can get other hackerspaces to come and bring stuff what's actually hard to buy and a #hackerspace is full of.

Those of you from a hackerspace know what i talk about.

Damn. I know how it feels to lose a community space. But not like this, not that sudden. I can only imagine how much love and passion has gone up in flames now and I sincerely wish for you that you can rebuild with the same love and passion again.

@inj4n There was a wood dealer in the building. They had a lot of sliced nice trees for furniture making, up to 6cm thick. The excavators pulled the building totally apart to get to the last smoldering pieces.

That's also why really seriously nothing is left.

They managed to prevent the fire jumping over to neibouring buildings with large water walls.

Their fassade still melted but did not burn.

@lydschi Our original plan there was to have an event and invite all the spaces over and bring things.

This contains a transport risk for us if it works well. But maybe worth thinking over. @overflo @pixelbar @milliways

Kennst du die geschichte von mir als ich in Holland gewohnt habe und in Rotterdam bei einer flüchtlingsorganisation gearbeitet hab? Da wurde pim fortyn erschossen und mein Büro war ganz nah von seinem Büro/Haus und Tausende leute sind mit blumen und kerzen usw. zu seinem Haus gepilgert und wir haben vom Bürofenster zugeschaut wie die Massen dorthin sind...
