An eldritch horror has posessed the screen of my phone. There is no background image, the whole screen apart from the icons is supposed to be white. Something has infected (?) the OLED and it is turning the deepest shades of purple.
Does anyone have an idea what could have realistically happened here?! I mean it's pretty :blobcataww: but also ... uhhh ... I was intending on using that phone, can you please not posess it?

Ist jemand in der Region und entweder erfahren mit HRT / Endos oder so wie ich davon betroffen dass ein Indikationsschreiben mit Diagnose und Behandlungsempfehlung als unzureichend abgewiesen wird weil auf einen Antrag beim medizinischen Dienst bestanden wird?

What if I misused 20 not entirely working character displays to make a wall clock by strategically placing the non-working parts in areas where it's Ok for them to be broken? Make it glitchy on purpose ... leverage some of my graphic design and ascii-art skills maybe? Could that be anything?

I guess I see how well it works once I get them and can map them out and see how broken many of them really are. plan b is use the back lights themselves for binary time and just overlay glitch characters randomly for flair

The displays will be a very mixed bag and I will take some care mapping out which displays can work in which spots. The one with an entire chunk of characters missing may go on the edge or be used for one of the dots

a 20x4 character display that shows all characters as the number 8 for testing purposes. One entire row of characters and part of a second row are not showing up. This would be an edge display I guess

27 backlit displays in various states of defectiveness are now waiting for me to turn them into something. This is going to be a long multiple months kind of project that I can slowly chip away at. Lots of things to figure out: Power needed to drive 21+ displays with the backlight on, which displays are defective in which areas and where they would therefore fit best in the finished project, the kind of I/O capabilities and/or multiplexing I need for displaying unique things per display

First insight: With one lcm1602 board per display I can make all of them speak I2C which means it should be possible to write data to the entire batch with only 5V, GND and the SDA and SCL lines. The bad news is, cheapest I could find in a cursory search is a pack of five for around seven bucks, so for my project I'm looking at 35€ which is out of the question for me at the moment ... but I can afford one five-pack to get a prototype running maybe
