Neither big tech nor us can likely comprehend that amount of cash. For us it’s likely an amount that would change our lives. For them it’s likely an amount they don’t even realize is even missing.

I'm honestly very surprised by this. What is the point of having data regulations if they can simply host the data somewhere else to avoid them in the first place?

Sorry, I'm writing this everywhere, but the bigger concern is dictatorships stealing personal data for their advantage. And I'm sure they won't care too much about EU laws regarding private data collection. The EU should focus their resources on that fight instead.
