As we near the end of the month, please remember that your instances are run by individuals who pay for hosting of services to provide you the tools we all get to use to interact with each other.
These hosting services cost money, so if you can spare a few bucks, please support your admins!
Here at #AllThingsTech we give you the choice of making a one-time donation or by subscribing with a monthly amount that you'd like to support the instance and the admins with.
All donations go back to the instance to cover all hosting costs 100%. Nothing goes to the admins in any way.
Currently, AllThingsTech has monthly costs of about $140 that comes directly out of our pockets. So again, any amount helps more than you can imagine!
I'm super excited to announce that @beardedtechguy and myself will be joining the @Vivaldi@vivaldi.net Community Talks show tomorrow, May 25th at 1pm EST.
We'll be discussing why being on the #Fediverse matters to us!
We'd love for you to tune and give it a listen, and you can do so via the link below.
New account, migrated from old. I guess I should do an #introduction post for the #fediverse.
Hello! I'm a father, husband, and DevOps Engineer by trade. I build award-winning custom motorcycles in my down time.
I've had the fortune of messing with tech since the TRS-80. My dad helped successfully steer us clear of Microsoft product offerings my whole life. From Deskmate > GeoWorks > OS/2. Then from there, Linux > BeOS > MacOS > Linux. I really enjoy #elementaryos and #fedora.

This is definitely an interesting read about the moon getting its own time zone.
It actually makes perfect sense in so many ways. I really hope since the moon time zone won't honor DST(Daylight Savings Time) that this helps us here on Earth get rid of it as well and not honor it going forward.
My latest silly project: mounted a Raspberry Pi 3 to a DIN rail in my garage to run Z-Wave JS UI because Home Assistant kept loosing devices from the network closet.
@beardedtechguy and myself are looking for someone to help us grow #AllThingsTech in every way possible. This includes our blog, our instance, our wiki, our Discord and our community in general.
We're looking for someone that is super active here on Mastodon and will continue to do so going forward.
We're looking for someone that is willing to talk about the instance, advertise the instance and recruit for the instance if possible. (cont...)
We would like for this person or persons to be able to add content to our wiki, such as Mastodon how-to's, helpful tips and tricks for the #Fediverse and various other similar things.
We'd also like for this person to be one who would like to write articles on the blog as well, but certainly not mandatory.
We're looking for someone that is all about community and making the #AllThingsTech community the best it can be. (cont...)
