Hey @ironicbadger, @popey, & other #ZFS#homelab users: what tools and processes do you use to back up your ZFS-based storage? Like most homelabers, I have a mix of file types and databases that I need to account for.

@ironicbadger@popey let’s assume I’d be really upset if I lost the data. Part of it’s going to be #Nextcloud which will include what I’ve previously kept on Dropbox & Google Drive. Another part will be #Audiobookshelf files that could be replaced, but would be a giant pain. Another part will be recipes and I think that would likely be irreplaceable in some cases.
I just tried to sync a #podcast with an mp3 player from a Mac and was utterly defeated. This used to be so easy!
gPodder seems to be recommended by internet forums, but I couldn't get it to sync.
@jacqueline do you have any ideas for how we might sync podcasts to a #Tangara from macOS? (I'm not asking you to support the crappy $6 mp3 player I'm messing with now, but I don't have a Tangara to play with yet.)
@greggles
Used AntennaPod for a few years, its great. But I went a step further last year and started with #Audiobookshelf to selfhost books and podcasts (own your data) and I since also use their mobile app. Great experience.
Got this little fellow, an Argon One M.2 the other day, and looking to set up a few services on my Lan. Still waiting for a few things to arrive. Intrigued by #CasaOS but have zero knowledge about #Docker. I played around a little on an old #RaspberryPi 3 over the weekend just to familiarise myself a bit, but after installing a few docker apps the whole thing froze. I've used #Linux for years, I'm just a regular user, not a Dev or sysadmin, but projects like this can be fun. #ArgonOne#Linux
#BigBearTechWorld have added #Gluetun to their CasaOS repo. I haven't tried it yet, but this does give me hope
I installed some Jellyfin apps on my OSMC pi, and it can now see my files. Videos run at about a frame every few minutes or so... Maybe that old pi3 just isn't up to the task.
Still using my Chromecast.
used Libation to losslessly liberate my audible library for playback anywhere. installed audiobookshelf on my nas. loving my new self-hosted audiobook/podcast setup 🤓🤙🏻
I'm planning on setting up a #rasberrypi music streamer. I'll be throwing headless #plexamp to play my music library and I'll probably use #moodeaudio as the base image to get me bluetooth, airplay and a few other bits. Does anyone know how I can integrate podcasts into the platform? I was thinking of setting up an #audiobookshelf server and clients on my mobile devices but I'm not sure how to stream a podcast to the pi so that it keeps track of my position across all my devices.

I guess my favorite game of evaluating software and hardware has ended for a while and I have to start sigh actually playing games and consuming media.
Finally got #AudioBookshelf working for me, had to up the RAM on my #PikaPods instance, so not sure why that made a difference, but streaming is much better! Not to pleased with the accessibility of the Audiobookshelf mobile app, but audiobook player appears to not support streaming directly from servers unless I'm missing something?
Right now, I'm testing #AudiobookShelf with friends. They all like it and I allowed people to upload their own audiobooks, but I wish there was a way I could limit uploads per user. One friend of mine really likes to upload these book bundles that are like 10 GB! But I am gonna write a post about how writers can use audiobookshelf too! I gave bloggers and book influencers access to a library with only my work in there, including upcoming audiobooks, and they love it for reviewing purposes. They get to download my books, subscribe to my audio as a podcast, and more. It's a beta, but still, I really think authors could use this as a reviewing portal if they take the time to play with it. https://www.audiobookshelf.org/
