As we approach the end of Autism Acceptance Month, here is a reminder that countries like New Zealand will prohibit you from immigrating there if you are autistic.
Psychiatry and other forms of bigotry go hand in hand.
By the way it's real fucking ballsy to cold email an autistic person during #AutismAcceptanceMonth and ask me to do a free consult under the guise that you want to be "more inclusive."
Still ruminating a bit about how people will downplay your late Autism realization and not think it's a big deal and not get why you may feel the need to get diagnosed.
You've gone through your whole life thinking you are some unrecognizable alien just to find out there's others like you but there is medical criteria and it is hard to validate yourself to you and to other people who have always thought you're "normal".
I don't like on how this is the 3rd time I'm asking for help during this situation, but this is the only way I can do to help.
We have been in some progress since last time, we're currently working on gaining the ability to buy a house throughout the weeks up till now. And so far, we're waiting on a word from them telling on what're we suppose to do next.
While we're waiting for that, we do need help with keeping up with the hotel room, food and bills while also saving up for the house. Every bit helps!
I'm just sad because I put a lot of effort into an #AutismAcceptanceMonth post on Facebook and it got less interaction than my posts usually get. Most of my friends don't know that I'm #ActuallyAutistic, although some of them know some of my children are.
Happy Autism Acceptance Month and cheers to the @autistics.life peeps out there!
I just realized my neurotype last June out of trying to ID a "disorder" I always knew I had, so this is exciting to me. My kid is also Autistic so this is a shout out for them too, though they won't see this. 😊
I don't know if I'll see huge gains in our acceptance during my life as we still have a really toxic culture still, but maybe they'll see some in theirs. Hoping.
Happy Autism Acceptance Month! Today is the start of a whole month on how awesome our community are. And show the world that we need more acceptance in this world. #autismacceptancemonth#actuallyautistic#autisticJoy
