For this is the segmented dome skylight in the Marble Saloon in Stowe House, Buckinghamshire, England. Doric columns of scagliola, not marble, line the walls, and the niches hold replicas of statues as the originals were sold long ago. The neoclassical house is a seventeenth and eighteenth century construction.
