(Made it a goal to not require third-party libraries or tools for such a small task, but damn I totally get why nobody is using #Python's builtin HTTP client directly 😬)
• You have to split the URL into scheme, host, and path yourself.
• You have to choose whether to create an HTTPConnection or HTTPSConnection based on the scheme.
• You have to supply the Host header manually.
• Instead of .request() returning the response object, you have to get it using an additional .getresponse() call.
• There's no convenience method like requests' .raise_for_status().
GitNex 5.5.0 is now OUT with a new comment UI, the ability to update your profile avatar, the option to insert notes to issues/PRs/releases, and many other improvements.
We have also reached 400 stars on #codeberg. Thanks to all for supporting GitNex all the way.
With the upcoming 6.0.0 release, GitNex will have different version numbers, such as 6.0.0, 7.0.0, and so on.
I hope you enjoy the new release and find it even more productive.
While they are read-only at the moment and Github is still the canonical source, it should be possible to open pull requests from the Codeberg side to contribute sometime in the future and have it reflect in the other direction.
I want to move my GitHub repositories to #CodeBerg and my question is, github seems to have a robust terminal/Cli program. I tried to register for a codeberg account, but they’re accessibility solution for getting around the captcha is to send them an email with registration details. Has anyone else done this? And if you have, and if you got an account, what is their terminal support like on windows?
Thank you! I was wondering why not go with a magic link via email or similar instead of a captcha. I wasn't super keen on emailing anybody my registration details so it's great they listen! @menelion@Codeberg@forgejo@fnetX@Gusted
Ooh, @Codeberg just updated to @forgejo version 7 and… ta daa, the spurious warnings in the code listings for proper curly quotes and other correct – but sadly underutilised – typographical elements in comments and strings are gone!
