We replaced our 16yr-old Subaru with a #Kona electric. This year, we used 3780 kWh of electricity -assuming 85% charging efficiency, that’s 4450 kWh. In #Quebec, we pay about CAD $0.10/kWh, but fast charging is higher (~CAD $15 for 50 kWh). That’s $380 for charging on the road, assuming a third of our energy, and $300 at home; CAD $680 total.
The same distance in the Subaru would have burned 2037 litres of gasoline; at avg. CAD $1.556/l, that would have been $3,150 in fuel. #EV#ElectricVehicle
@straphanger Sadly I've never seen or heard of one in Germany, but #DHL did buy their own #ElectricVehicle manufacturer to build them some 3,5t MGW #boxtrucks for #parcels and in big cities like #Cologne, postal delivery personnel often use tram & metro networks like regular passengers with their delivery bikes...
#PublicTransit advocates in #Florida are encouraged to complete an interactive survey for the Pinellas Suncoast Transit Authority Community Bus 🚎 Plan, which aims to transform #PublicTransportation in the county over the next 10 years.
"#ElectricVehicle sales continue to grow faster than most people expected, even faster than professional analysts in the field expected, and — surprise, surprise — they’ve grown much faster than oil companies have forecasted. That’s one of the big takeaways from BloombergNEF’s latest Zero-Emission Vehicles Factbook."
