Not sure if this is gonna work but let's give it a go.
I'm interested in getting the Taito Super Pocket for my collection but I don't run Windows on my PC. Has anyone had any luck running the updater through WINE on Linux?
In an era when sports games tended to be button bashers or joystick breakers, Epyx tried something different. Its control methods were based around timing and precision, and sometimes attempted to mimic the actions of real-world sports. The result was a game that was arguably less exciting than Decathlon, but one that was also more thoughtful and that had greater longevity.
@craiggrannell Epyx Summer Games on #C64 was a great game. It took me minutes to learn to play, and many hours to master.
For anyone who doesn't want to set up emulation, the #Evercade port in Commodore 64 Collection 1 is quite good.
When the HyperMegaTech pocket comes out, I suspect I will have C64 collection 1 in it a good percentage of the time, mostly thanks to Epyx Summer Games.
New toy! The Super Pocket, Taito edition. I’ll be reviewing this (and its Capcom sibling) for Stuff. First impressions are good. The built-in games hit the right spots. For 50 quid or 60 American dollarinos, this should fly off the shelves this winter.
Blaze, the creators of the Evercade line of products, plans to release a smaller, trimmed down version of the system called the Hyper Mega Tech. This portable accepts all standard Evercade cartridges (it's not clear if games exclusive to the more powerful Evercade EXP are included), with a form factor similar to the Game Boy...
The company behind the #evercade just announced this, Hyper MegaTech Super Pocket (thats a mouthful, hyper megatech is their new side-brand) looks neat and features games from companies who alledgedly dont want to sign on for evercade cartridges.
This comes preinstalled with games from either #capcom or #taito but also can play evercade cartridges.
Theres also limited transparent models on funstock for sale this friday. I think im gonna get that. im a sucker for lil handhelds.
Have been an #Xbox Live Gold member sinds 2006 (Saints Row on Xbox 360 was when I got into Xbox). For the past three years I’ve had #GamePass Ultimate but it has expired today. I’ve hardly used it though. Was going to get another three years of Xbox Live Gold and upgrade it to GamePass Ultimate. But just yesterday they changed the conversion ratio (3 years now gives 2).
As I’m still on Xbox One S and don’t play that often anymore I think I’ll be without online for the first time in years.
@jake4480 aside from some of the mainline Nintendo games I buy everything on a discount. Have a couple of hundred games in my backlog anyway. I could stop buying new games for a couple of years and still have new stuff to play… Having an #Evercade makes that even worse haha since that has several games per cartridge, though not all of them are great.

Been messing around with Speedball 2 for this month’s @dosgameclub - although I confess I’ve mainly been playing the Mega Drive version via my #Evercade.
This Bitmap Brothers cartridge also includes the original Speedball (Master System) and Speedball 2100 (PS1), so seeing as only days left in May I’d better try them out ASAP too! It’s quite fun once you’ve figured out all the oddities but I definitely need to invite some friends over for some local multiplayer to make the most of it, I think.
